walt francis Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Just not paying attention !!!Just sanded it down and rewash and prime.
walt francis Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 Well the Torino is back in the stipper again, went to shoot it with HOK Gold and the hood and fender wrinkled. >:(This car is just going to beat me .
walt francis Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 So , i am over the set back and moving foward, I trashed all the junk primer and now it is shot with the white dulacolor primer and this stuff goes on like velvet.
Custom Mike Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Great recovery Walt, let's hope it keeps going smoothly! I know guys who hate Dupli-Color's White primer, but I'm like you; it always goes on smooth for me!
walt francis Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 Well I came up with a name for the torino "Miss misery" and as you can see I finally got a base coat of HOK gold on her with still a fight at the end, she dropped right off her holder while I was shooting her but all that happen was a little dig in the door, but that will fix easy so as you can see things are moving along for this month.
charlie8575 Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 That gold sort of reminds me of one of the stock colors Ford had in that era. It certainly looks nice on it. Remember, Walt, it's only plastic, and you're smarter than it is! Charlie Larkin
Terror Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Those set backs you speak of,we've all been there.I've bounced a few off the garage floor myself.Your fixin her up nice tho.keep it up.
walt francis Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 Thanks guys and yea charlie it's only plastic but some times I think they have a mind of their own and just fight you just to see what you got.
Terror Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I'm afraid to get another good paint job.I have had everything from dropping it to bugs getting stuck in the paint. Now I'm waiting for lightning to hit one.LOL
walt francis Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 I know you wont believe it but "Miss Misery" took a coat of paint. I know I can't believe it myself but it's true. ;D
walt francis Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Is their such a thing as a model car exorcist ? I think the torino needs one. Yesterday I decanted some of the paint so tonight I could shoot another coat on it, so take a wild guess what happened .... when I opened the bottle it foamed all over, Ok we clean this mess up we get the gun loaded, start shooting and the BOTTLE FALLS OFF !!!! So we clean this mess up, and try to finish the coat then the gun starts sputtering and so I just fought though and got this coat done. I know this sucker is evel and I am going to beat the evel out of it if it don't knock it off ...I SWEAR I WILL DO IT !!!!!!
Abell82 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 It's definately a sign, the model does not want to be that color.

Bluzboy66 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Well here are the results of the fight with Miss Misery last night...I think I won that round. Walt, The Tor-MEAN-o is finally looking great! Don't feel bad. My latest, this '62 Bel Air gave me a friggin FIT! It was painted, stripped and repainted no less than three times before I finally settled at this...... Keep up the good work (and the fight!), Mike
walt francis Posted June 1, 2010 Author Posted June 1, 2010 Well got the interior done today after I went to michaels and picked up some Martha stewarts flocking and did a mix of dark green and black and did a wood shift knob Here is the flocking and I picked up the rust kit too,
