lanesteele240 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 This is my home made down draft booth. I used a fan and controls out of an oven vent, poked a bunch of holes in the shelf, made it so i could remove the shelf to replace the filter and vented it to the eve of my house. I used some cork board to hang up the kit direction and parts trees to keep them off of my bench when not needed. The side of the booth is removable for larger projects. I made some shelves for paint and tools This contraption is my compressor. I hung it close to the ceiling to get it out of the way.
diymirage Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 that is a nice looking setup you have there my only suggestion would be to get a piece of cardboard of make a door or some other way to shield of the paint rack because especially once you stare using spray cans in that booth the fan will suck out the vapors but there will still be a considerable amount of overspray on your paint rack there i really like the removable sidewall just the other day i found myself painting half a frame at a time because the whole thing didnt fit in my booth
Bruce Poage Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 That looks fantastic. But it is way too neat!!
crazyjim Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I was gonna say the same thing - first neat workbench I remember being posted. I like your idea with the corkboard for parts trees. Whenever I start a kit, I cut everything for the trees and seperate them into engine, chassis, interior, body.

I predict it wont be as neat for long.... I just finished it and snapped the picks. i am gonna try to keep it neat though
