70elcamino Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) I do not want to take away from the usual Real or Model post, but check this out. Looks cool. Russell Edited March 1, 2010 by 70elcamino
Longbox55 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Having seen it in person (I still need to upload the pix off my camera), I may be overqualified to give an answer!
Jello Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Its real and looks real. I say it makes a nice Indy car and/or Salt Flats racer. Air flow control science seems to be the idea here as well as safety. Cool pic!
Eric Stone Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Where's everyone's sense of humor? I voted science fiction. I still wanna see how that thing will take a turn on track at speed...
Joe Handley Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Dad and I were looking at that at the Chicago Auto Show, he's thinking that with the shape of that nose piece and the extra narrow tires, it should steer pretty good if they have their math right.
70elcamino Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 The video they show of several of them going around the track, reminds me of a speed racer show. I would like to see one in person though. Russell
Greg Cullinan Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 We had plans of going to the Auto Show in Philadelphia unfortunately it snowed like mad the last days of the show when we were going to go.Seeing this really makes me wish we had gone.Definitely Speed Racerish! Just using vehicles like that in a race would increase fans overnight I would think. How far in the future are these or are they just concepts?
Longbox55 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Here's my pix. I can see a Bonneville or LSR vehicle, not so much Indy or circle track car. Too long and the front end is far too narrow and front tires far too small to maintain stability in the turns at speed.
