jimnohio Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I have some plans for some web site upgrades, and I was hoping some of you guys would be willing to let me use a few pics of your finished models. We would be using them on our pages....example: Pic of a 90's car for our "modern" section, a "4 x 4 pick up for the truck section...etc. I would give credits on our "about pages", and may actually want to use more than one car on each page. Anyone who is willing to allow us to use your pics, please just reply here or email me. Thanks, Jim
charlzrocks Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I'm game....but ya gotta be a bit more specific. I assume this would be a kind of "Header" photo above the category?
jimnohio Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 I'm game....but ya gotta be a bit more specific. I assume this would be a kind of "Header" photo above the category? Header, or in the heading is exactly right. All pics would give credit to the builder, and even link their site if they choose. I think it would be more interesting to folks to see actual "built" models, as well as inspiring to other builders. I would contact the builder 1st as well.
935k3 Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Please feel free to use anything I ever post, that's what there here for.
crazyjim Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Does the offer hold even if the kit wasn't purchased from you? If so, I'm willing.

jimnohio Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 I will need a couple examples of each category on my site. i think it might be fun to change them every month or so. I can add a page for links to other builders...and we can all go gaulk at some builds. I have many customers who also are willing to help out. I think the whole thing should be up and running in mid April. The site will not have any real "design" changes, as I like to KISS (keep it simple, stupid). I think most folks when shopping want to see product, not a bunch of site content. To move us up in Google searches, I have to eliminate 'frames'. I hate to, but we'll never get picked up if we don't. The "actual model" pics will be atop each page. Thus, I need some from all categories we use... Early Iron, Classic, Muscle, Modern, Corvettes, racing, PU trucks, Foreign, and Show cars. I'll be checking this post for "permission", so to speak, and then email when we start actually using the pics. The pics will have to saved on my site (so I need to copy them) and may need cropped for content. It should be fun...and will look awesome seeing real builds on every page. Thanks guys!
jimnohio Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 Does the offer hold even if the kit wasn't purchased from you? If so, I'm willing. LOL...of course! An AMT kit is an AMT kit....no matter where it came from! (revell, etc.)
nails3825 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I'm interested, not sure if my builds are good enough for what you're looking for... compared to most of the others on this site But you never know! You can use whatever you wish from me, no problem.

highway Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 If you're going to have an "Other Models" section, you're more than welcome to use any of these pictures: This is a Union Pacific "Big Boy" Locomotive built from a Revell of Germany (formerly an old Monogram Snap-tite) kit.

Goggle Holiday park in Cheyenne Wyoming. The last one of these giants standing is in the park. Unfortunately it has been there for the better part of 40 years exposed to vandals and the weather and it is not in the shape a museum piece like this should be. I use to drive by it going to and from college(U of Wyo in Laramie) and was always saddened to see it deteriorating.

Thanks Pete, I started looking aroung the web for other Big Boy locations because, while driving tractor trailer I had seen one in Denver, and find 8 still survive today, of 25 originally built. Of the 8 survivors, 6 live at museums and 2 of those 6 are inside the museum. I found that at this link: http://www.trainweb.org/jlsrr/bigboy/information/bigboy%20information%20center.htm#anchor locations I "Bing"ed Big Boy Locomotive and found many useful pics and info, I needed to do that anyway, I still have 2 of the original Monogram Snaptites sitting on the shelf waiting to be built! P.S.: Just to give everyone an idea of the size of the locomotive, this model is HO (1:87) scale and the track in the pic is two 9 inch sections of Kato brand straight track, and the model barely fits!!
