Zingers!

I've always loved the little Zingers kits and was pretty happy to see them reissued. I have a few originals still sealed but not the whole set.

One thing i've noticed is that they are all out except for the Super Volks (Volkswagon bug) Zinger? I wonder if theres a licensing problem with it?

Hs anyone else seen this kit available anywhere?

As soon as I saw a couple of these ( Mainly the big rig) I wanted them. If anyone knows who carries these let me know. So far my main LHS does not carry them.

The only problem with the VW Zinger is a minor production problem, according to the manufacturer. It will be out soon. I built 4 of the original Zinger models for the Detroit Autorama and I will be getting a complete set for my own use.

I won't be getting the whole set, but I'll get a couple of them. I already bought the van, and will probably get the Dodge pick-up thingy and the 57 Chev. I never built these as a kid, had no interest in them at all. Still don't really, it's just a nostalga thing, that's all. Actually, it's a curiosity thing, too. I've never seen one built up in person, so I wanted to see what these consist of, particularly to see what the rear wheels are like (you know, see if they are worth robbing for a more serious project). My daughter, who is showing an interest in building, might take a shine to them. If so, I'll buy more. They are fun and simple, so they should make for a cool first glue kit.

For those that don't know, there were real 1:1 Zingers made as show cars by Daryl Starbird if I remember correctly. They were basically just overblown engine stands using normal sized engines with mini fiberglass bodies.

My local hobby shop got two in for me last week and told me that she would be getting the rest this week. I'm a huge fan of these quirky little cars and cant wait to have them all again...

I have some of the original cars, part of them etc. Its good to see them back. One I have is a williys? panel.

As I can afford them, I would like to get the whole set. Same thing with the dragins models. So far I have 4 of those. I think these things are cool and im just kid enough to want to build them. LOL. Jody
