I picked up a Campbell Hausfield unit at Lowes several months ago. The tank has a 3 gallon capacity - it's actually 2 tanks stacked on top of each other. Came with regulators, hose, fittings, and a staple/nailer gun. It was about $70.00. Besides modeal cars, it can be used for a variety of other jobs around the house.

I just called my lhs and all they have (in my price range) was the mini blue one made my testors. It almost sounds like a little toy thing. Has anyone used that particular type? I have also been looking at the campbell hausfeld ones too.

Shoot man go to Lowes or Home Depot & buy a three to six gallon pancake type air compressor. I bought one for $160.00 & it hardly ever kicks on which scares the sh## out of me because its so in frequent. When I first started I bought one for $90.00 way back when And that little turd never shut up.Do yourself a favor & check it out.

How bout this one? The price seems to be a little low for what I THINK it offers, although I know nothing about them? what do you think?

I'll add my recommendation for the shop compressor. I'd also suggest that you get a filter on the line too. You'd be amazed at how much stuff seeps through the compressor filters.

If you're concerned about noise, get yourself a CO2 cylinder and regulator. It's completely silent, and the gas is clean.

Cheers,
