Started the 71 Cuda Convertible model the other night. Painted int pieces semi flat black and began some wood work (need to touch up a little). Will be flocking the int. May build my own rear leaf springs. Also worked on the stance a little...

Nice interior work and those wheels look good on it even though I'm not a big wheel fan.

oldscool

I want to give it a great interior since its convertible.

I keep looking at the wheels. I wish I had a front wheel just a little bigger.

I'm not a big wheel fan either, unless they're off road tires on them. But I think these work on here.

Thanks!

Eric,

It's good to see you back on the forum and building again!!

I hope that all is well with you and your family,

Thanks Raul! Good to hear from you again. Family is good... enjoying Richmond, Va. How you been???

it looks good so far i would use the classic green color and put some sort of paint graphic on it

I have the black decals for the rear fenders. What kinda graphics you suggesting?

(I like the green too...)

I agree, that car is AWESOME! I wish I had the skills to do a paint job like that... I could get away with two tone, but the silver is not do-able for me. I don't have that skill level, nor do I have an airbrush (use rattle cans).

I have completed seat belts and faux wood look. Will post some pics after I flock the interior.

Actually the silver is easily acoplished too! Get some thin striping tape from the atou parts store. First lay down your top piece from front to back. Then take a section, place on glass and cut into thin strips. You can easily do this bu placeing two blades into your exacto knife! Then lay them down into evenly space diagonl lines. Lightly lay down your bottom piece from front to back and use you exacto to carefully cut the diagonal strips along the bottom piece. The take off your length of tape and remove the excess diagonal strip ends. Then place down a new strip front front to back on bottom. Mask off the rest of the car and paint your silver. Make sure to do light coats, not heavy ones as the heavier the coat, the more build up along the tape. I would love to see you accomplish this! Jody

Hey guys if you really want to cheat on the silver stripes, SLIXX makes the exact replica that FOOSE did on his Cuda. I bought a set just for the very same project. I'll be watching your build. You got me excited!!! Keep us posted.

Never really been a fan of convertibles but il be watching this.

87 Grand... Do you have a link for the decals? I've been tossing around trying to paint them on, but if there's decent decals out there I may do that.

I'm using the box seats for this build. I don't know where to get those cool seats anyway, and they wouldn't go well with the stock interior, which is 95% done.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Got the interior done and started on the green...

The pictures show a LOT of dust and crude... In reality I can't notice it. But I'll clean them off good before taking more pics.

First time simulating wood. I think it came out nice.

Now to work on the paint scheme...
