Modelmartin Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 And I built it! I was punking the Milwaukee NNL sub-theme of 18-wheelers. The body is a 1/24 Tamiya Mini and the rest is Monogram 1/32 Kenworth and Fruehauf. It's right hand drive, of course. The decals were Alps printed by a good buddy. It was a real quickie. I think it is the first spray can paint job I have done in 30 years. Rustoleum. It was fun seeing people's reactions to it.
B_rad88 Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 hey andy, i wouldn;t say thats dumb, but its very intresting! lol. a nice job incorperating a mini into that. and oh, there is some more ppl inquiring about the metro kit, i have been posting updates in the metro model thread.... just to let you know
george 53 Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Jeeeze,Andy, the scales sure mixed pretty good! Crazy Idea, but it works! Looks good!
highway Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I wouldn't be so hard on yourself! Dumb, NO! Different, YES!! Take it from a real trucker, you never know what you can think of when you're high on DIESEL FUMES!!! So it's a "MINIWORTH" or a "KEN COOPER"? I like "MINIWORTH" myself!
Guest Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Hey Andy, that's actually kinda cool, good idea using a small scale rig.
Guest Johnny Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Sort of brings to mind Fords 2 story Falcon!
Harold Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Now that is different! As the owner of a BMC vehicle, ('68 Austin- Healey Sprite) I got a good chuckle. However, you forgot the pool of oil underneath, and the smoking Lucas electrics. . Nice work.
Chuck Most Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 This one's more stupid. Wait... no, I mean more stupider. No, no... sorry, most stupiderest! Sad thing is, though, it's the typical 1:1 Hummer owner's fantasy!
Howard Cohen Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Does that use the standard Mini engine or the more powerful 1275CC ?
Modelmartin Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 Does that use the standard Mini engine or the more powerful 1275CC ? It has Squirrels on steroids in the dual treadmills under the hood!!
Sixties Sam Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 It's not dumb, but it's definitely odd and very cool! Nice job! Sam
Junkman Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 There are no dumb models, but there are dumb people building models. As for you and your rig, I find it anything but dumb. In a never ending sea of yet another rat rod, it is a more than welcome relief. Very original and very tastefully executed. Bravo!
novadose71 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 (edited) I saw that one there in person and you did a nice job on it, and I bet you had fun building it. Not dumb....just a bit goofy Edited April 22, 2010 by novadose71
Chuck Most Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 There's a fine line between stupid and brilliant. The Mini Rig does a silly little chicken dance on that line!
novadose71 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 There's a fine line between stupid and brilliant. The Mini Rig does a silly little chicken dance on that line! Well said
