Has anyone noticed how some of the touchiest people join the forum, muck around for a while and then disappear? More than a few come to mind who have caused a ruckus, called some names, slimed up the forum and then slithered away. I won't name names but I think it would be humorous to have a Douche-bag Hall of Fame!!:):P

I tend to believe that people with that type of mentality just have an overall erratic and unstable lifestyle to begin with. And if they go away it's probably a good thing.

I agree. Can we leave it at that and move on?

I haven't noticed this, I've been busy lately and haven't been on many forums for long periods of time, not even my own, thank god I have companant Moderators.

I am sorry to report this, but I think we, the serious modelers, are just going have to contend with this kind of juvenile behavior from time to time.

We are participating in a hobby forum. This is not a forum where heart or brain surgeons share their latest techniques in medical breakthroughs. This is a forum where adults and young adults share their love of a hobby that can attract some less then desirable individuals.

I believe that some of the “children†here are lacking in the social skills. I think that maybe they feel intimidated by their lack of these skills and feel the need to disrupt the rest of us.

I don’t pay them any attention. I know who the serious modelers are and who the mischief makers are.

Unfortunately, this is one of the draw backs of the internet. Insincere and often malicious individuals hide behind the cloak of a false name and real intention just to masquerade as something that they are not.

In the end, the truth always comes out as these frauds usually expose themselves for the juvenile miscreant they are.

I have a simple rule, actions speak louder then words…….show me your builds, I will know if you are the real deal or not.

We could, but I think the best revenge is having fun with this guy, like a cat keeps playing with a mouse after he's killed it. I mean, the guy came in to be a buzzkill, but if people have fun with it instead then he's the butt of his own joke.

There is no revenge with morons. They just sit back and laugh.

I would nominate for the MCM Forum DB HOF that guy who got everyone riled up a couple of years ago with that stupid "What grinds your gears?" ("Family Guy" fan, you think?) thread, then revealed it was all an experiment for one of his classes! Anyone remember his name?

I think that was Ryan Quantz.

Hey,

as long as we are handing out trophies ( and we all like trophies don't we?), throw my name in the mix. See if someone can stuff the ballot box and beat me out of the grand prize!!!!!!

Great Idea Andy!!!

David

and yes, there is (or "theirs" for those of you who don't know the difference) some sarcasm there (or is that "their"?)

Sorry, David! You are not even in the same zipcode to get nominated for the DB HOF. You are actually one of the few, the proud, the DB repellent! You are one of the informal band of brothers who make the forum safe for the rest of us by doing battle with douchebags. Keep on fighting the good fight, man! I am so proud.

Well that's just GREAT!!!!

Just when I think I have a shot at another trophy, I'm discriminated against for being a nice guy. This really sucks!!!!

And I had cleared off a place on my shelf for the award.

Oh well.......

Sometimes people just get bored and want to have some fun. When I was in the Army, a buddy introduced me to Yahoo Chat. I didn't care for it but he lived for it. He was always trying to meet women in the military room. We were in Germany so I registered a Yahoo screen name as a 21-year old German girl named Anneliese. I went into the military chat room and hooked my buddy the first time. I really had him going in PM. Misspelling all the right words, putting an apostrophe on anything that ended in S, my "accent" was great. After 45 minutes I finally sent him a picture of the real me. Boy was he upset...but he fell for it again, under another screen name. ;) I wish I could tell you the screen name I used, but I'd get in trouble. Send a PM if you want to know.
