Here is one I started a few days ago. Trying to keep this one a mild custom. Still have to finish the engine and rear suspension. Need to do a little more wet sanding and finish the painting.

Nice Edsel!

BTW, I posted this under the duplicate message. Then I deleted it when I noticed replies were appearing here instead.

I really dig Edsels, the one I built... floats in space! Really. Sorta!

somone else who loves edsels? YAY! the edsel has to be my favorite car of all time. i just love the styling. i even went so far as to draw out a edsel concept from a 2010 mustang lol ;)

edsels for the win! and i like that silver+red combo. looks classy, yet speed rodish... B)

The paint looks great so far.

I picked one of these at the Desert Scale Classic; the one with the continental kit.

I'll have to keep an eye on yours to see what cool ideas you come up with.

I think I'm going to buy another one of these kits. I really like how it is going together. Maybe I can do a wild custom or a stock car.

I can't help but wonder what Edsels would look like if they were still being made today.

Nice start, nice colors.

Charlie,

Here is some pics...apparently updated Edsels have been tried, this one based on an '89 Pontiac Grand Prix!

Based on these pictures, I'd say it's a good thing they killed the Edsel when they did.

Roger that! I am amazed the camera didn't burst into flames when the photo was taken!

Funny you should mention that...although blending GM and Ford styling has never worked too well to my eye.

Maybe I'll start playing with some pencils and see what I come up with.

I have got a little more done on the Edsel. Had one little setback , screwed up the paint on the roof and had to start over. Here are a few pics . I made the distributor, not bad for my first try.

That color combo is a knockout. Will the side coves and rear insert be the same color as the top?

I have already done the side coves but had not even thought about doing the rear insert. I had to do the roof over. I tried to spray some silver glitter on it to give it a metal flake look but I used the wrong stuff and it screwed up the paint instantly. I was hopeing to have it done by tonight so my brother could take it to a show in Iowa but I guess I will have to wait for the next one.

looking into the future even further, you might find these on the roads:

That is absolutely phenomenal. Great work! Maybe I should reconsider my opinion on the euthanasia of the Edsel. In a different, somewhat less-sleek way, it seems related to Ford's show car styling going back to the Ford Futura.

Almost done with this one, this is my first time using BMF. I know the plug wires are a little big but it works for me until I get some 30 gauge wire.

Looking good. I have the same problem with my spark wires too. but Railfreak mentions that they make good boots for plug wires.
