meaneyme
Hey guys, I am trying to paint the interior of my Arnie Beswick Catalina, I know it has 3 shades of blue, does anybody here know which shades to use and what paint? I have seen a few pictures of this model and it's interior in a few model car contests and would love to know what I can use to do mine correctly. John Goschke
Here are links to a couple '62 Catalina's on the web. One with green interior, the other with red. Blue interior should be similar, with the medium, light and dark shades in the same places. Green 4DHT.... http://www.hoobly.com/0/0/957935.html Black 421SD with red interior... http://musclecars.howstuffworks.com/classic-muscle-cars/1962-pontiac-catalina-super-duty.htm Hope that helps. Sounds good, I had more or less the same question since I want to do mine in blue also!
sjordan2
Here's a blue interior and other detail shots. Simple enough when you check Google images. http://www.carcraft.com/featuredvehicles/ccrp_0806_1962_pontiac_catalina/photo_12.html Edited May 12, 2010 by sjordan2
Pete L.
Fellas, What do you guys suggest for the exterior shade of blue ? Thanks Edited May 15, 2010 by Pete L.
sjordan2
He says he wants to do an Arnie Beswick, so here's a white one I listed above: http://www.carcraft.com/featuredvehicles/ccrp_0806_1962_pontiac_catalina/photo_12.html And here's a blue 1:18 diecast version: http://www.diecastfast.com/diecast/DCF/PROD/MIC-PONCHO What IS there about people being so unresourceful as to ask forum members to do their research for them? Google could not be simpler. Do your own research first, then ask the forum if you can't find the answer. It took me 30 seconds to answer your question, which you could have done yourself. Well, let me see, I don't recall putting a gun to your head so that you can take valuable time off to get me an answer Obviuosly, you didn't have anything to do when you responded to the question. Also, I was looking for more ideas and input from several people since a lot of these pictures are actual restored cars with incorrect colors most of the time. I have exactly those same pictures stored in my Fotki photo album also, so, as you can see, I am pretty resourceful..... What IS there about people being so rude in reference to getting a question answered. Edited May 13, 2010 by meaneyme
edward smith
I think Kevin brings some good points here, while there is a lot of information in Google, I believe it's also a good idea to ask questions in the forum, a lot of times people will suggest an idea that can help in using a better method or even finding an item in a store such as a specific paint or color that it's hard to find. Hearing different opinions is always a good thing, I also use Google to try and get my information before asking any questions here but it certainly doesn't hurt. randx0
for the interior colors I think some of the model master engine colors might get you close not correct but close .
