Wagoneer81 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Agreed. Even Monogram's Beer Wagon was changed to the RC Cola wagon, which is still more reason to be amazed the Rommel's Rod was re-done. Irwin Rommel was a German General serving a murderous, totalitarian regime. Alcohol is what it is. To the noisy PC minority that saved us from the evils of Alcohol and Tobacco decals, the decals were worst of the two . I'm not trying to start a tirade, just showing where "their" minds are... That having been said, I will agree that it is a wild looking subject and I've been eyeing one of them at the LHS. One day, it will attach itself to me on my way out and I'll have to build it. To add to the list, the '61 Ford PU. Has it ever been reissued?

Junkman Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) All the Bandai cars. Bandai seems to have turned its back on cars forever. There was a half hearted attempt by Fuman a few years back, which brought us the 1/16 Bugatti 41, the Mercer in the same scale, and one version of the Excaliburs in 1/12 - that was it. I'd love to have the 1/8 scale XK-E back, which is lightyears better than the Monogram one. Also all the 1/20 scale cars too! Then the 1/16 Steam Roller, Road Locomotive and the Dennis fire engine. Simply everything. But no. No! Never. This is especially sad, since the tooling is all there and neatly stocked in the Bandai factory in Shizuoka. I've seen them with my very eyes! But both company directors shook their heads horizontally, when I asked them about putting these back into production. Edited May 16, 2010 by Junkman
HotRodaSaurus Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Anything that has alcohol or tobacco advertising on it. At least not in its original guise. Tamiya did re-release one of the the JPS Lotus's a few years back J
GMP440 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Believe it or not the old MPC 68' Coronet was not modified into the 69. The model company does have the body. Some pieces are missing. Hopefully they will release that one someday.
Casey Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 Though I'd love to see Monogram's 1/8 '82 Z/28 kit on store shelves again, I doubt it or any of the other non-'32 Ford based Monogram 1/8 car kits will be re-issued. I would guess most of the TV-show based kits (Simon & Simon Z/28, Riptide 'Vette, Hardcastle & McCormick Coyote and 4x4 pickup, Charlie's Angels vans, etc.) will not see the light of day again, at least not in their original packaging. For some of the above mentioned kits, that's a good thing! I don't think a 1/32 scale molded-in-pink '70s Chevy van with the Charlie's Angels logo on the side would be a huge seller.
rssschris Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 MPC 71-72 Impala, 73-74 Caprice " 71-77 Vega's " Pro Stocks series... I sent an email to Round 2 telling them that I`d like to see the MPC "PRO STOCK SERIES" models reissued. They sent me back an email stating that they would like to reissue them sometime. So who knows, maybe more modelers should drop them an email & maybe we can get these kits again. Chris

Chris Way to go Chris, maybe with enough modelers we will get these reissued eventually. I hope!!
styromaniac Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Think there will ever be an "Uncertain T" released ? Based on some of the comments I've read at another website it sounds like the history of that particular car is muddled in complex issues...including personalities. Wonder what happened to the molds of that one.
Ben Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 What about the 1/20th scale Winnibego, can't remember the kit maker. Do you mean the Winnebago Cheiftan by Normatt? That was more of a promo that a "kit". I have one here mint in box.
Ben Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Revell 1957 Ford Country Squire wagon. (molds were irrevocably modified into a custom Rancharo) MPC '81 Chev Cavalier. (Cause nobody would buy it now) LOL AMT 1960 Ford F100 pickup (molds modified year after year.) Palmer 1955 Thunderbird (It was bad then... why bother !?!?)Man, those Palmer kits are horrible!

Chris hopefully this wasn't a canned answer. Ive "heard" that alot of the pro stock series molds were worn or damaged to an extent that big money would be required to bring them back. Round2 may be the one to bring them back. Man I hope so....
