Customizer Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 This is one of my older models. I always wanted to do a custom '36 but the only one available was the AMT 5 window, I wanted a 3 window. We were at our local fair and a fellow modeler had a bunch of unwanted stuff and I found an old Monogram 3 window, the one with the really brittle metallic red plastic,3 bucks and I had a project. I chopped it, opened the doors and changed the rumble seat into a trunk. I used the newer '37 Ford chassis, motor and interior and made the front wheels posable. The rear end was dropped a bit and a resin and etch '38 LaSalle grill was added. I can't remember for sure but I think the wheels and tires are from a '58 T-bird. The doors were hinged suicide and there's little catches on all the hinges to hold them open,I hate using wires and sticks to prop them open. Thanks for looking, Ron.
