dirty_j Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 will amt actually follow through with the new dodge challenger despite being dropped? hobbylinc has the item listed on their site as a pre-order. http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/amt/amt38578.htm
Zoom Zoom Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Only time will tell. AMT will probably end up in more capable hands than RC2 eventually, so if it is tooled up this year it'll probably be a decent kit and live on. Probably, being the key word. I think it's a wise tooling investment regardless of AMT's post-2007 scenario. I think they're just looking for a buyer, and getting people to buy their stuff now via their announcement to keep the product moving. Classic "get it now, it'll be gone soon" sales tactic. If AMT doesn't do the Challenger I'd practically guarantee Revell would.
Custom Hearse Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I just received my Hobby Heaven catalog, and they've anounced a release date of June! I hope it actually happens!
gasman Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 according to HH all the kits AMT announced are a go, they still plan on tooling up all those kits, including the Foose Mustang, Camaro and Cuda, maybe AMT is doing better and RC2 decided to keep them,
Rob Hall Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 The latest I heard from HH (as of Monday) was that the Challenger and Foose kits have been cancelled. It makes sense..if RC2 is trying to sell off AMT, they aren't going to invest in new tooling that they won't make an ROI on..
Zoom Zoom Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 As for the Challenger and Foose kits, Revell would be a far more suitable manufacturer for them anyway. I just hope they think so too, or more importantly, Wal Mart wants 'em
dirty_j Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 yeah its been a big topic over on another forum............ honestly im a little dissapointed they axed it; but i agree that revell would be better suited to produce it. hopefully they'll give it a go; im keepin my fingers and toes crossed.
