Italianhorses Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I'm slowly chipping away at a pile of old AMRs that one gentleman sent to me for restoration. These are the last two I had. Red one was painted horrible bronze color, and black one was white (go figure), with blue interior. Yuck. Re-did these puppies in more appropriate color combos. Some of the things were left unrestored (like windows, wheels, etc) at a request of the owner. I scratchbuilt new steering wheels (made them thinner), and added few scripts and emblems here and there. Other than that - "box-stock". Thanks! 1
Kombi Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Your paintwork is fantastic. The overall impact is great, it's hard to believe they're 1/43rd.
MrObsessive Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Alex, I have a soft spot for 1/43's as I do them from time to time. Yours are real knockouts! The paint is flawless! Now I've got the mind to do another 1/43 after I finish the 1/25th I'm working on!
Italianhorses Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Bill, what are you planning on building in 1/43?
Monty Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I couldn't fathom working in that scale. Kudos to you for being able to do it so well. May I ask what color you used for the seats in the black one?
MrObsessive Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Bill, what are you planning on building in 1/43? Oh my lemme see! I've got............. 1955 Jaguar D-Type Longnose 1958 Ferrari Testarossa Pontoon Fender 1952 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante 1961 Aston Martin Zagato Bosica Porsche 356 (cliff hanger that one is with a TON of parts!) ........and some others I can't think of at the moment! Out of those I've listed, the Alfa Romeo has been calling me for some time now. Disco Volante's aren't something you see every day, or even at vintage races for that matter!
