daniel gailloux Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Hello All It was raining most of the day. Then the sun came out and took these pictures. These are to update photos of my White Road Boss build. I took 11 new photos tonight. The model truck rig is now in the painting stages. Trailers are painted and assembled. I will be adding air and electrical lines to the trailers as details no more. Now I am focusing my work on the truck. Painted the cab this afternoon. Need to fit everything the cab and hood. One challenge is hinging the hood to make it open to show the Cummins NTC 350 diesel engine. Here is the Photobucket account link: My link Updated photos will be added as I progress with the build. Thank you for the interest in my project. Best regards Daniel Gailloux
ARTEMIS1759 Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 OK. Not a fan of the blue...but this color combo works together. Is it a truckline color or custom combo? My dad wanted to paint the 59 Chevy 4 door Bel Air I restorodded for him this blue. I told my uncle "No way in Hell". So we used New GM Indigo metallic with 3 stages of pearl.
daniel gailloux Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 OK. The color scheme came from my day cab build and wanted to be a fleet truck and put the Dohrn decal on the door. The decal sheet was from my decal box. I then modified a 40 ft trailer to be pulled by the truck. It is a 27 ft delivery trailer with rear lift gate. I then came up with this color sceme for the trailer. The blue is Testors 1108 light blue, Testors 1104 dark red, the dark orange stripe is Italian red B-2719 all applied with airbrush. I am using all standard Testors colors this way I can always replicate the same colors. The combination of colors is important and will impact the final result. I have googled Internet about Dohrn transport company and they are still in buisness. They do not have the paint scheme I am using on my trucks. The logo has changed and trucks are white. From Hanks truck Picture site I was able to find photos of older trucks and found truck that were painted orange at one time. These decals are from AMT 40 ft external post trailer. On the box the trailer is painted orange like the original paint scheme from Dohrn. Thank you for the compliments. Daniel Gailloux
highway Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Nice job, Daniel! I couldn't help but notice, though, the second trailer has no landing gear wheels. Are you planning to add some or do you need any?
daniel gailloux Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Nice job, Daniel! I couldn't help but notice, though, the second trailer has no landing gear wheels. Are you planning to add some or do you need any? The model is this is still under construction. This build is all recycled models from my parts boxes and built ups. When I pulled out the trailer parts they were all built and one landing gear was complete and the second landing gear had a sand shoe and started painting it dark red and said to my self I will find the other sand shoe paint it and glue it to the missing leg. I whent trough my part box and could not find the other shoe. So I pulled out a set of wheels to put under the landing gear. I need to paint it drak red nd install them on the landing gear. Good observation this is what makes forums interesting to me as some see thing we may miss. Best regards Daniel Gailloux

Best regards Daniel Gailloux Thanks, Daniel, I have a nasty habit of seeing the small details! The main reason I brought it up, though, was so if you needed another set of wheels, I might have a set I could have sent you, but it sounds like you have it covered. If you would need them, though, I think I have a set from the AMT Freuhauf flatbed, you would be more than welcome to them.
Paul B Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Coming along nicely Danmiel! I like the way it looks with the doubles.

I do have a photocopy (5000 sheets) box full of AMT 40 ft trailer parts that I have accumulated trough the years, built ups and parts. Yes I do have it covered. Many modellers would envy all the spare parts I have accumulated trough the years. With this build I got to use 2 x 40 ft trailers. I have assemble a 40 ft trailer to go with the present set or I should say to go with the fleet. I will be painting it this weekend. Thank you for your offer. Best regards Daniel Gailloux
Old Albion Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Daniel, Excellent looking White and matching trailers. I don't remember seeing a Road Boss on the forum before. Complete with a great colour scheme. Good Luck with the rest of the build. Dave
