Geezerman Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 This model features a genuine rodent skul as well as a lot of scratchbashing. Base ingredients are the skull, 36 roadster body, custom top from the salvage yard, 50 Ford windshield, and a bunch of other stuff. Build fotos in my Fotki if you care to look. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/1/clay_gratz/1/rodent/
David G. Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I guess that would make this one an actual "Rat Rod"! This is probably the only time I've seen kit-bashing and skull-bashing occur at the same place and time! Very well done, the whole build works nicely!
sjordan2 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I love it...kinda redefines the term "rat rod"...lol Outstanding creativity, with a "Eeewwww" factor of 6.
Space Cowboy Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 "RATS" that is fantastic. It looks like it comes from a rodent cematery. Great job on recycling..
charlzrocks Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Do we want to know where and how you obtained the rodent skull........I dunno....it has a "Creepy" factor of about 9 and like jordan said...the Ewwww factor is up there as well! Other than that, your creativity is working overtime, great job!
Jim Gibbons Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 That is too cool! That's thinking outside the box personified. I have to send the assembly photo link to a friend's daughter who skeletonizes dead animals. She'll love it!
Geezerman Posted July 3, 2010 Author Posted July 3, 2010 Thanks, Everyone. Found the skull under some bushes in the yard. I knew instantly what was in store for it!
Raul_Perez Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 That whole rat skull is kind of creepy and very cool all at the same time!! No one can argue with you that this isn't a real rat rod!! Keep up the GREAT work!! Later,
nails3825 Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Hah! That's a very imaginative build ~ and it turned out great
Modellpularn Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 (edited) Ohhh jeeezz man, it's creepy as _ _ _ _ man ....! I wouldn't want to meet that thing in a dark alley! It could be out of some horror movie; "The Rodent's Revenge" add your favorite soundtrack.... But please, don't go overboard with this "fill in doorlines" thing. It looks unnatural on a white car. Try filling some white over the black, and you might get it right. Or less cartoonish.... Edited July 5, 2010 by Modellpularn

Even cleaning up existing ones ) But I usually don't return to a finished model unless I'm tearing it apart. So, it's in the case along with it's NSRA '09 award.
george 53 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Geeze, GREAT to hear that it won an award!!! THAT'S how it's done! By thinkin up stuff that OTHER guys wouldn't touch. But YOU did it Daddy-O! I LOVE the way you modded the body to it's NEW shape, I'd like to see that rascal cast in resin! Another fine mess you've gotten us into!!!
