Matt Bacon Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 A true classic kit, first issued 50 years ago! And with the Alfa 158/9: bestest, M.
Peter Lombardo Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Very nice job on some real classic racers. I haven't built one of these kits but I imagine that the molds are pretty old so you did a great job on completing the cars.
MonoPed Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Very cool!! Would be sweet to see these old racers re-popped...
charlie8575 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Nice job. I love French Blue, it looks so good on so many things. Charlie Larkin
simonr Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Hey Matt, nice build on this classic racer. Simón P. Rivera Torres
Space Cowboy Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Matt you have done some great work and some smooth painting..A couple of showpieces....
elan Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Nice work, I've always wan't to try one of these but I can never find them for sale at a decent price.
Jim Gibbons Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Very nice! I'd like to chase down another copy of the old Hawk Mercedes Benz W163 I built as a kid. I also wish more of these old Merit kits were reissued.
Matt Bacon Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Thanks, guys... If you want to build one of these, Modelimex in the Czech Republic has the Smer reissues for 6 euros each, which must be less than $10... and they are really good to deal with. I ordered from them, and the kits were with me in the UK about four days later... www.modelimex.com best regards, M.
sjordan2 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I noticed there is something of a dent in the grille mesh. Did it perhaps trade some paint with Fangio's Maserati?
