just read the current issue of Mopar Action magazine, on one of the pages near the front, there was a tiny picture of this car that caught my eye. Apparently, Shafi Keisler, from Keisler Engineering (THE Keisler Engineering) owns what he believes to be the REAL Preproduction '69 Hemi Charger SE that was shown in that calendar, and is the subject of your build! He is currently restoring it, and SPEED TV's show "Chop Cut Rebuild" filmed at Keisler's company back in May to do a cover on the "KEISLER XP HEMI CHARGER", well at least that's what they call it. I sent a message to Shafi himself on Facebook to see if he can shed a little more light on the car for you!

Thanks Michelle! I appreciate it! It would be great to know more about this car as I did take a few liberties with the build. It is difficult to figure out what a car has for options and features when the only resource is a picture from a calendar from 2 years ago. I look forward to hearing more!

Yesterday afternoon, I went out and purchased the current issue of Mopar Action and found the Keisler ad on page 9. I just might send an email to Shafi Keisler (through Facebook), introduce myself and tell him about my project and show him a picture of the completed Charger model.

I don't have much information I can disclose yet because the restoration of the car is being covered by both CCR (Chop Cut Rebuild) and Mopar Enthusiast magazine. However, for more pics of the car from the Dodge Press days, please visit the 1969 Charger Registry online and look for these images in the press section.

wow they did a great job restoring the Charger, I love it! That is one ultra rare Mopar and it's great that it was saved and not crushed years ago!

IIRC that car was in bad shape when they got it too, and all the mods that were done were mild enough the car should be able to be returned to stock pretty easily as well!
