I searched for the previous posts on this build but couldn't find it. Probably because it's been so long ago that I worked on this build. Well, here are some pics of the finished car. Hope ya like it.

Didja make that shell Dan, or buy it? If ya made it, MAN did it come out NICE! If ya bought it, can I ask ya where from? I been wanting one, but just can't bring myself to pay 70+ bucks for that one from Cail resins. Yours came out GREAT!!!!

Cool. Looks like a 1/24 scale wing tank, perhaps from the Trumpeter kit? That's the smaller of the commonly used tanks, in the neghborhood of 180-200 gallons I think. Bill Burke's first tanker used this one, and like your build, things were pretty cramped. The larger tanks (300 gallons?) were quickly adopted soon after.

George, Early Years Resin carries a very nice vacuum formed tank (the larger one) which is very reasonably priced. Here's a link: http://earlyyearsres...om/lsrparts.htm I've got one on my bench waiting for some attention...

WOW, thanks a lot guys for the kind comments. George, the tank is from the 1/24th scale P-51 kit. I think it's the Airfix kit. I had a lot of fun building this car. The windscreen is from a 1/48th scale Corsair. The rearend is from a 32 Ford kit as are two of the wheels. The other two are from a 29 Ford. The engine is from a 49 Merc and the seat is from the parts box. I scratch built the steering link from evergreen plastic rods. The exhaust pipes were cut from the custom exhaust from a Corvette kit. The radiator is a modified one from the 50 Ford convertable. The steering wheel is one from a WWII bomber kit cut to fit. The front axel is from a 32 Ford I believe and I drilled lighting holes in it. The parachute is from the parts box also. The color is aztec gold pearl powder mixed in clear. Thanks again guys. Dan
