Man, I can't even say how much I really like watching his builds take shape and then to finally see them finish is something else. I remember that truck build of his very very well :D . That was the build that me and him kinda became online friends by.. me and him have been friends sense then.

Romell, keep up the good work bro. I enjoy watching your builds and others also.

Who's that? I've never heard of him!! :D:lol::lol:

Seriously, though, John, I think both you and Romell are great builders, and I just wish I lived closer to both of you. The work both of you have posted here have made me just want to sit and watch the works of art both of you build come together in person. By the way, I hope you both did well today, and I'd like to see what you entered today as well. How did you do? I hope Gregg took pics of these stunning builds for the magazine!

I must say john Is a great builder and A outstanding person. I have met a new friend as well as a brother. The show was great John went home with two awards. I may not have recieved an award for my builds but i was rewarded with the company of a honest hearted man whom my family also enjoyed being with. Gregg was also very pleasent to be with and talk to. And i felt like I was privalaged to be in the presents of yet another great modeler and companion. Looking forward to seeing you in Hawaii Gregg and thx for making this an enjoyable event. Oh and yes gregg did get plenty of photos of the builds that John and I brought......

John,

Very nice post. My son and I had a great time today and it was real cool being "pitted" next to you guys. I again enjoyed chatting with you about your incredible builds and techniques and meeting the great Romell and seeing his awesome work in person as well. Hope we see you both at the next show!

My daughter and I really enjoyed the show. Lots of good models and dioramas. We spent the trip home brainstorming ideas.

John and Rommel had some awesome models. Photos don't quite do them justice. Tho I think I'll bring a magnifying glass next time. :P I'll die happy if I can build half as well as they do.

It was great seeing everyone from the SD Model Car club too.

Thanks, Romell. I think coming home with a plaque for his efforts today and winning a few raffle goodies got him excited to keep going. It sure would be nice to see that junior table a bit more crowded!

Hey would you guys keep me in the loop as far as when shows will occur in your neck o' tha' woods?

We do not have that much going on here, and a few hour drive (5) is all it takes for me. That and I get to stay in Old Town, you know margaritas at the Coyote Cafe!

Since I'm on the left coast, I can only wish I were there. The camaraderie and friendships I've read about in this thread prove what a great bunch of folks are on this board; egos left behind and sharing knowledge. I'm so glad to hear you folks had kids involved; I hope they continue with modeling, as they have awesome instructors. I have a few simple models I want to share with my neighbor's grand kids; get them away from the TV and video games and expand their creative horizons. Kudos to all of you!

now if we all can meet some time that would be great :D

A BBQ at Gregg's, maybe! :):blink: OH, WAIT!! I forgot, I don't have wings, so I can't get there! And there is NO WAY I'm getting on one of those flying tin cans, either!! :o That would mean Gregg would have to get on "Pineapple Airways" and have a BBQ here in the mainland!:lol:
