hippie6 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Does anybody make a "58 Ford 2 door. I found some Benny Parsons decals and I want to make sure I can find the car before I buy them. Then agian maybe I should just buy the decals... it is for one of Benny's cars!!
mr moto Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Resin Realm has a '58 two door hardtop by R&R. Take a look and see if it's what you need. http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/RRGalleries/Ford/index.html
Chuck Most Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Modelhaus has one. You will not be disappointed with this one. The one from resinrealm , which is made by R&R , which is an acronym for Rough&Raunchy is nothing compared to the one Modelhaus makes. True, but the R&R kit would still be a marked improvement over MY '58 Ford, which is a chopped up old AMT annual!

From the appearnance of things, I'm guessing you're mating that up with a '57 for a more detailed model? Good idea Charlie Larkin
dimaxion Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 The '58 Ford driven by Benny Parsons would have the brand new FE Engine . The roundy pounders always had the latest engines . Still do ...lol . You have a good looking Y Block there . It is 312 cid , the FE is 332 . I am watching this with interest . If you only need the body , Modelhaus is the way to go . IMHO . Thanx ..

Good idea Charlie Larkin Yes, but only because the kit looked like that when I got it! The opened panels were kind of crude and sloppy, so it's gonna be a looooooooooong road for this one!
hippie6 Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 Well I know modelhaus's products and their reputation. I don't think I've ever seen a Hendrix resin piece. I've bought wheels and tires from modelhaus and maybe its time for my first resin body from them. Now the question.... buy now or wait a month for the Toledo show/ NNL's??

Hendrix kits are generally pretty good as far as casting quality goes. One gripe is, they don't plate their parts like Modelhaus does, so you'll need the Alclad or the services of your favorite plater.
