bigmikevee Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Hey gang, Been following a very helpful painting thread, I am very interested in printing it and saving for later reference. Is there a way to print just the text without the pictures, avatars, etc? Thanks in advance to all that reply, appreciate your help!! Mike
Foxer Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 It will probably take some work in order to edit it. You might find just hitting Print in you browser is easier. I use Word to save things like this and other word processors will work similar. Some I'm sure won't. I copy and past the pieces I want and edit out things I've captured that I don't want in Word. This lets me grab larger pieces at once to paste into word. Word will put the actual photo in rather than the link. It also displays Emoticons and text sizes and colors as they are here in the forum page. You'll have to test your word processor as to how it handles various web things.
Gregg Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 On the bottom of the page, it says: Share This Page There is a print icon. You can also save it, share it, email it, and I think Facebook it. Thanks for bringing this up. I just tried to Facebook it, and the IP Board icon shows up instead of mine. I will work on that.
Kris Morgan Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 This is good info to have. Thank you for bringing it up. And, thanks Gregg for the reply.
sjordan2 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) On my iMac, I go to File and pull up my print window. When the print window comes up, it has a button that says, "pdf." With the window I want to save open, I click on pdf and it is captured to my desktop because that's the location I chose. As a result, you have a pdf file you can put anywhere. It saves all visual material. Otherwise, just open a new text or Word document and copy and paste all the copy, post by post, into that document. Edited September 9, 2010 by sjordan2
southpier Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 another way might be to highlight what you need, and "copy". then open up your Word program and "paste" then print like any Word document
