Kris Morgan Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 In the last few years Revell took a bit of a gamble by bringing out all new tooling of kits we already had. I am talking about both the 55 and, 58 Chevy and, 49 Merc. I think the gamble paid off. We got some great kits and, Revell sold these kits with ease. This got me to thinking about what other kits would be well suited for the same treatment. Here a few kits that I would like to see all new tooling of and, feel would sell well. 63-64 Galaxie 71-73 Mustang Fox body Mustangs 79ish Camaro What would you like to see.
Brett Barrow Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 A new Badman using the new-tool '55 would be awesome.
Jim Gibbons Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) Yup...would like to see any of the big Fords from '61-'64 done. I like Chevies, but how about some Ford and Mopar from then? At least Lindberg did some interesting Mopars and the '53 Ford. I was overjoyed when the '59 Imperial was re-released, so how about some more late '50s-early '60s Mopars? (I miss JoHan!) While I'm at it, a '55-'56 Mercury would be welcome, too. (Think of the custom possibilities.) I know I'm wandering away from the re-tool theme, but one can dream, eh? Edit: AMT's old '56 Ford retooled into a '55 (without destroying the '56 molds.) Again, I'm allowed to dream, right?! Edited September 17, 2010 by Jim Gibbons

I would agree full heartily with you Jim , The Mercury line was so over looked both then and now , 1951 to 1970 ( Mercury) was full of interesting subjects , The modeling companies got carried away with pony cars and muscle cars. Don't get me wrong I loved them as well as the next guy but I had a passion for many of those land yachts as well. Edited September 17, 2010 by 59-Desoto

I'd love to see many of these subjects done to new standards. I'd love to see a lot of the Jo-Han Cadillacs and AMC products re-released, too, and in the case of the Cadillacs, sized so they're scaled properly. Charlie Larkin
kelson Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I'd like to see an all new kit of the 69'firebird,69'chevelle would be nice and throw in a 71'javelin.
Sixties Sam Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 How about if Revell made a series of Model T rods similar to their nice 32 Fords? A roadster, maybe a chopped coupe (not as low as the old AMT version), and a tub. Include a flathead in at least one of them, and a pickup box and a turtledeck in the roadster would be nice. Maybe some steel wheels and whitewalls, too, and motorcycle wheels for the front end. They could use the engines from their Deuces, and whitewalls from the 49 Merc. Lots of rodding and rat rod possibilities! I would buy them!
Eshaver Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 1934 Ford three window , that can be built stock !!!!!!!!!!!! 60 El Camino No offense but I want plastic 79 Caddilac , ( STOCK ) 1951 Ford F-1 pick-up , comon ya can do it off de 50! 49Ford simple two door , ( NOT THE BUSINESS COUPE ) Ed Shaver
gasman Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 1969 Chevelle, Revel could easily retool the 72 Cutlass to this.
Dan Helferich Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) I've seen a lot of things suggested that I agree would be nice to have in modern tooling. I'd love to see new tool '53/'54 Chevies. Maybe a Bel Air first and then a Convertible. The Monogram kit has that "Japanese Sci-Fi Movie" look common to many Monogram kits of that era. The Revell kit has a much better body but still doesn't look quite right. These are very popular cars in the full sized world, I want to build some in scale!
