Chuck Most Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 First off, all the paint and modifications were started by another modeler. He lost interest in the project and I finished it- really about the only contributions I made (besides getting the last few bits together) were the mirrors, mud flaps, and rear bumper. I also slapped on some door handles, cab clearance lights, and fender turn signals. Still turned out pretty cool!
kingiguana Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Cool, I just hope that bug, doesnt jump up and hit the windshield,....it would break it ! And now You need a icecream truck so you can make a float !
impcon Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Sure is sweet!!!!!!!! I love those old corn binders.. it's a unique model.. wonder where he got the cab?
Chuck Most Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 The cab is from R&R Resin- they call it a '56, but it is in fact a '57 Golden Jubilee Custom A-100.
charlie8575 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Nice job, Chuck. I'm guessing the color is more brown? At least on my computer it's kind of orange. Charlie Larkin
Chuck Most Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 Nice job, Chuck. I'm guessing the color is more brown? At least on my computer it's kind of orange. Charlie Larkin You're both right and wrong, both wrong and right! I'd call it a sort of 'brownish orange'.
von Zipper Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Nice job, I like what you've done. The color looks like Root Beer to me.......
Chuck Most Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 Nice job, I like what you've done. The color looks like Root Beer to me....... Yep- that new Testors color in the "One Coat" line. Not my favorite, but it does look pretty good on this truck with the cream top, wouldn't you say?
EH225M Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Hey Chuck, Great truck!! It looks fantastic. Tell me, that bug sitting in front of it, ... did that make a cameo appearance in the 'cars' movie? Right at the end when the credits were rolling??
Gluhead Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Chuck, it looks great. Do you know where the wheels and tires are from? I'd love to have a set or two of those.
Chuck Most Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Chuck, it looks great. Do you know where the wheels and tires are from? I'd love to have a set or two of those. I think the wheels are Modelhaus- the tires look like the old 1:32 scale AMT big rig tires.
Nova-ss Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I love it!!! that is so cool,great work on this truck.great save dude.Thanks,Chris
Bart68 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 WOW, how did I not see this one before? We need more IH kits.
Chuck Most Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 The thread that wouldn't die! Thanks guys! I no longer own this one. My neighbor, not a modeler but a life-long IH truck guy, now has it in his collection. Should NOT have done that... now he's hounding me to do a model of the '80 Scout II Traveler he used to own!
