This is my build from this WIP thread and my first completed project posted here:

Obeying forum rules, the first photo shows that it's now truly 'Under Glass' ;)

Not finished as a polished show or street car-it's very close to how I hoped a frequently used track car for vintage events might look. Not sure why but shooting in macro modes causes many areas to look 'dusty' as you can see tiny specs in many shots. Also, the weathering is much more subtle in life as the strong light makes everything seem more pronounced.

I'm sure it's not to the taste of many of you but I was happy to get these results from a disappointing Trumpeter kit. Hope some of you like the effort:

I've been watching the progress of this in the Big Boyz section, and now that it's finally here in Under Glass, all I can say is spectacular!

From following your progress, I know how much research you did and how much detailing you added to the basic kit. Also, the weathering is subtle but very convincing.

I give this one a 10+... ;)

I second Harry's comments; as a huge vintage racing fan (and one that has worked timing and scoring in these events,) I think your choice of a "used" racer is superb. I've wandered through the paddock many times, and one of the coolest things (to me, anyway,) I saw was a D-Type Jag with "battle scars." A great job on a less than great kit; you should be proud of your accomplishments. Vintage racers are not meant to be trailer queens. Well done, my friend!

Cato... what I meant regarding the "per post" picture limit was that you could simply add another post to your original thread. :D

I took your second post and merged it into your original thread... so all the photos are in this one single thread.

It looks great! The weathering sets it apart from the trailer queens, and also makes it look real! Yes, race cars do get dirty. I really like those rusted headers, cool!

When you take pics, try to find a smooth surface to place the model on, instead of that tile type. That will make the pics so much better.... Almost makes me want to buy one, and the Tamiya Lola.... ;) I had that one, but sold it to a friend, who botched it!

Hans and Ed,

Thanks for the nice words. Hans, I know you are correct, I try to minimize the background distractions and keep a sense of scale. It's just that the light was perfect there yesterday. Now I have to build a 'photo asphalt' slab! I'm not a huge fan of studio lightbox photography.

Great work my friend. Having built one of these monsters, I know the amount of time and effort involved in finishing it. You have done a wonderful job, and I can certainly appreciate all the extra details you have added on.

Then please post it! I have been trying to get more guys to build and show their versions of this kit. I know there are plenty better than mine.

Brett and Mcan-thanks, it's nice to hear your positive opinions. Mcan, what display do you mean? Are you building a race track diorama?
