eagle2159 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Hello everyone. Found a few months ago on Ebay this model GMC General. The model had been started (bad job) and in poor condition, after a laborious disassembly and cleaning, I began a reconstruction model. For the moment the result is quite correct, I just finished painting the body with my airbrush ....... I still have work to finish the model.
cowboysevens Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 nice job so far, i like the paint scheme. dennis
Jim B Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 That looks really nice. Are those wider tires I see on the front? I like the paint scheme, too. Very 1980s. If I remember correctly, the fit on this kit is really terrible, but it look like you've overcome the fit issues.
chuckyr Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Always nice to have craftsman give new life to a model.
phoneguy Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 nice job so far, i like the paint scheme. dennis I agree--that scheme fits the truck perfectly.
Darren B Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 WOW!!! You have done a fantastic job on this kit. I always marvel at someone that has the ability to take a pile of junk, take it all apart and put it back together the way it should have been built in the first place. You have a lot of skill and patience to be able to do what you do. Love the work, great job!
SpreadAxle Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Looks like you're going for a genuine GM paintscheme. nice work.
Mr mopar Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Nice work............. paint look's real good,I alway liked the GMC geneal.

Jim B Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 That's probably one of the best Generals I've ever seen. Very, very nice.
freightshaker Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Thats a great build. Its a good solid looking truck with some gripper tires on the back. I like your airbrushing. Nice Stripes.
eagle2159 Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 the trailer starts to take shape, a little patience !!!!!
highway Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Very nice job on the General and nice start to the trailer.
truckmech Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I love your general it brings back memories of when I worked on them Thanks.
ARTEMIS1759 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 That is sweet. I am kind of partial to the desert colr paint job (looks like saddle, gold and burnt orange) might have to try that.
Jim B Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Looking really nice. I'm really loving the paint job. If you want to use the log trailer, you really should add abot 2ft to the rear of the frame.
clayton Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Looking really nice. I'm really loving the paint job. If you want to use the log trailer, you really should add abot 2ft to the rear of the frame. And why is that??? I live in the South ours don't look that way. At one time the Phone company used something like a poll trailer, you know I haven't see those in some time as well.
Jim B Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Something about allowing the trailer to turn properly. At least that's what people who know a heck of a lot more about logging trailers that I do told me. Maybe it's just a Pacific Northwest thing. The log trucks around here don't use trailers.
379_pete Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 looking good bud way to turn a glue bomb into the bomb!
eagle2159 Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 The assembly of different parts of the trailer are finished, now it's paint, the color will be gray smoke
Jim B Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I like it. The steel truss is a nice idea. Don't see that all that often.
