Hi all I'm looking for 1 possibly 2 surfboards in 1/24 or 1/25 scale for a few projects on the pipe line. I'm in the uk so a Internet site would be the best. Just don't know where to look. Tia!! Cheers

If you can't find any, a scale surfboard is really easy to make out of some sheet styrene... there's not much to it.

Yep, what he said. Not much to it.

Believe it or not, the AMT 1964 Mercury Marauder came with a surfboard in the kit. I don't know why, maybe because the car is such a boat?

Strangely enough, the Surfite kit comes with three surfboards. :P

But, I'll agree with the other poster(s). They're easy to make from sheet styrene. Find yourself a surfing magazine and get some lengths and shapes. Most boards are 2.5 inches thick. When shaping it, the front third will sweep up, then the rear of the board will rise about half that amount. You can either shape the styrene, or bend it in hot water.

Cheers,

Dave Ambrose

Or do a Google image search and have all the reference you need in about 10 seconds. You can even download photos of decorated surfboards and print them out on decal paper to decorate your scale boards.

I believe the Jo-han Rambler station wagon came with at least one surfboard, and decals to decorate it. One other venue that I found useful (and it was easy living on the coast) was a beachside gift shop that had airbrushed refrigerator magnets in the perfect scale.

I had a couple of these that were in my way awhile back. I'll see if I can find them, now that I want to, and if I can, and it's not a big hassle, I'll send them to you. I've never shipped over the pond before, but a small package shouldn't be too expensive, or too big of a deal.

Graig, I did find two of them. I called the Post Office, but so far all I got was the national number, and an idiot (Is it legal to call postal workers, idiots?) who wanted to charge me $28.00 to send them. I'll talk to the local people tomorrow. I should be able to just put them into a padded envelope. I'll see what I can do.
