highway Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I know for sure one I've wished for ever since I onwed the 1:1 as my first car, a 1976 Mercury Cougar XR-7. That pic could be my old Cougar's identical twin, and I know MPC made a 1973 version, which I had, but there was just too much difference to make it into a 76. A couple others that come to mind are the two currently in my driveway, my 1990 Ford F350 dually 4x4 and my 1990 Ford Thunderbird. Yes, I know Monogram made the F350, which I have too, and Revell did the 1990 T-Bird, which again, I do have, but neither are close to my vehicles. In the case of the F350, the kit is an extended cab, mine is a regular cab. The kit is a gas engined truck and a two wheel drive, mine is a diesel 4x4. I do plan to modify the Monogram kit to make it my 1:1, but it would be much easier if I didn't have to! The same is true for the T-Bird kit, I have to modify the Super Coupe down to the base model I have in the driveway, which means taking the turbo intake off and making a standard V6 intake and also modifying the bumpers to the non SC bumpers, among other little things.
Adam deCoste Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 i no a long time ago AMT made a 73 chevelle stock car kit i would like to see them put that bback out there i would only use the body though to make a factory stock chevelle

PatRedmond Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 68 Coronet. Round 2, are you looking for the tooling??
impcon Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) To start off with - my first car - my dad's '59 Chevy Brookwood 4 door wagon that he bought brand new from Kenora Motor Products in Kenora, Ontario. My second car - a 1960 Monarch Scepter 2 door hardtop - white with a black and white interior - 430 cu. in., dual range automatic and power everything.. I looked for years for another one only to find out that it ain't likely to happen as they only built 65 Scepter Cruiser 2 door hardtops in 1960. Boy, was I ever stupid to have ever parted with that car! No use pouting - what;s done is done - here is the identical twin to my car except this one in the photo is the lower line Lucerne and my car had a black and white interior as said.. And my most fovoritist tv car of all time - the '68 Park Lane from Hawaii Five-O. The worlds most classy police car!! Man some ladies look sooooo good in black!!! *sighs* I used to wwatch that show just to drool over that car and today, looking at a photof that car just makes my heart skip a beat... I REALLY wish someone would cast this one in resin............ I mean REALLY wish.... Edited October 1, 2010 by impcon
codie27 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Once again I would have to go with Aussie made but I cant decide whether it would be the 71 HQ SS Or the 67 HR X2
Jim Gibbons Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) I agree with Terry; I wish a company (preferably Tamiya) would make a '61-64 Saab 96. It could be offered as stock and rallye versions. I built a 1/43 Starter resin kit of Erik Carlsson's '63 Monte Carlo Rallye winner (in my gallery photos,) but I wish there were 1/25 versions in plastic. I'd also love to see a plastic 1/25 '56 Lincoln Premier, and '55 or '56 Mercuries. This is the short list! Edited October 1, 2010 by Jim Gibbons
Railfreak78 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Mine would be a fairly easy one. I wish some of the resin guys would focus on making interchangable parts to simply change exsisting kits over. My example is I want to make a replica of my old 1976 Buick Skylark. Mine was blue with a white hard top. Easy conversion with a Chevy Nova model kit. There are 4 cousin or sister cars of this car group. Chevy Nova ( there is a kit) Pontiac Ventura ( There is an annual) Buick Skylark, and Olds Omega. These could be made with a resin grill with headlights and a resin rear panel. side touches could be build by the modeler. I think this would work with many more cars out there but this is my example Thanks for looking. (pictures from Google via CarDomain)
sobpinstriping Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 The only one I really would like to see is a 1965/1966 ford f-100, I would buy quite a few kits of it just to do a progression. cheers mat
Danno Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Easy enough. 1. My current daily driver: '78 Malibu. See pic below. 2. '30 Ford AA truck 3. '72 Dodge Coronet 4dr sedan 4. '89 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4x4 5. '76 Chevy Nova 4dr sedan (not the coupe) 6. '85 Pontiac STE 7. '89 Chrysler LeBaron GTC Turbo Convertible 8. '90 Pierce Dash 1250 GPM 500 gallon tank Pumper 9. '95 Becker Navastar 4300 Crew Cab Quick-Attack Pumper Don't want much, do I? Kits exist for my other favorite past rides: A. '53 Stude Champion B. '59 Chevy Impala C. '69 Camaro Z28 D. '74 Dodge Charger E. '78 Camaro Z-28 F. '00 Chevy S10 Pickup I've had others, but they didn't rise to the level of personal collectibility!
Doughnut Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 1974 Ford Econoline Van (in 1/24th scale). I miss that one.
davyou5 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I don't know for sure if there was a kit for it, But my first car was a 1985 Toyota Celica, I loved that car but 5 months later the radiator got clogged and the engine overheated, I tried like heck to get it back to running condition but it ended up costing to much and so it was junked.
charlie8575 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 From our family, cars I'd like to see kitted and they might actually sell... We had three 1977-90 GM B-Body wagons, a 1977 Buick Estate Wagon, a '78 Caprice and a '79 Pontiac Catalina Safari. I'd love to see the B-Bodies of that vintage out in wagon form. I still have the '77. A 1978-88 Olds Cutlass Supreme (C'mon, Revell, just do it and make it so we can do a stock one! We had two 1986s.) A K-Car. We had a 1983 Aries. I don't care what anyone says, that was the best little car. We got a long time out of it and might still be driving it had it not got wrecked. A Fiat 128. They're cute little cars and Dad loved to drive ours. A 1995-2001 Chevy Lumina. I had a 1996, my mother has a 1998 now. Both Garnet Red in/out. Great cars. I inherited my great aunt's 1966 Buick Skylark 4-door hardtop and bought a 1966 Special convertible in college. I could be quite happy with those; I might try modifying one of the extant resin bodies to match. A front-drive GM A-Body. Those are great cars and we liked ours. We had a 1982 and '87 Celebrity and a 1995 Olds Cutlass Cruiser. Other cars we've had that would be personally satisfying to see, if not real "marketable" are a 1987 Dodge Shadow, 1994 Buick LeSabre, and a 1980 Chevette. When I was very young, my parents had a 1967 Dodge Coronet 440 wagon and a 1970 Pontiac LeMans Safari. The LeMans was an especially nice car and is something my dad really misses. Charlie Larkin
