element
I need to dull coat over a redline decal placed on the tire(to shiny). What is the best for this. Somthing like Testors dull coat (hot) or something water based. Thanks
ChrisPflug
I've had good results with Testors dull cote over redline tire decals- light mist coats rather than trying to put on a heavy coat
Chuck Most
I've never used anything but Testors Dullcote for this purpose- it has never let me down.
High octane
I've never used anything but Testors Dullcote for this purpose- it has never let me down. Me too, I've used it over white letter tire decals and it works great!

ffreak
Same here too. Testors dullcote with light coats only. I've always used it on tire lettering and it's perfect.
slapshot
Same here. I sanded down the the raised lettering & floated the decal onto the tires side wall, dried it off with a paper towel & sprayed it down with with Tester's dull cote.Sorry that the tire shots are at a distance but that was the the best tire shot with dull cote that I have. Danno
I'm also a member of the DullCote fan club. Nothing else works as consistently well, in my experience. And, since that's about all I use it for (making kit tires look like real tires and making satin finish for wheels, etc.), a can goes a long way.
