johnnyb Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Haven't seen much on the net about it. Is this a new one or a repop? Any opinons on the quality? Thanks, JB
Joe Handley Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I'd probably kit bash it with one of the '59 or '60 Chevy Kustom or Lowrider kits, they chassis look like they're pretty close IIRC
Chuck Most Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 The way the suspension is set up in that kit doesn't lend itself well to modification. I'd say use 'dropped spindles' (play along! I mean move the wheel back pins up higher on the spindles), and 'cut the coils' (Or air bags, rather) down, and trim/bend the control arms to suit. You won't be able to lay it flat on the rockers without some serious cutting and pasting, but that ought to get it a bit closer to terra firma, anyway.
ZIL 111V Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Nice to see the convertible version back. What a great kit, still remember when i bought the original edition back in late 1992: total knock out... surely one of Monogram's best car kit ever, no wonder it won the "Kit Of the Year" award back then. Fantastic kit. (Funny that Revell never made a LowRider version, like their '59 Imapala). ...(Did Tom Daniel design the boxart: Pink '59 on original '92 edition box?)
