Making doors that would open and getting everything to fit right is just more than we wanted to tackle.

If you want to open the doors I'm afraid that you'll need a saw.

70 bucks is what you pay for italeri or revell AG kits,so the price is not that bad.and for an all new truck thats good. :)

I think 70.00 for an all new truck kit of this caliber is more than fair! If a 70.00 kit seems expensive than your in the wrong hobby! I have one project i'm working on right now that so far, has almost 1000.00 in aftermarket parts just to get the results i'm wanting! I could build this Lonestar kit for 70.00 right out of the box and be more than happy with the results!!!! These days most Italeri and Revell kits run in the 50.00 to 70.00 range and there about half as detailed as this new kit will be. Not to mention it's the first NEW and accurate truck kit we've seen in many years!!!!!! I can't wait to order a case of em!

While in Roanoke Va this last weekend I stoped by the International dealer ship thereand talked to one of the salesmen there. The HD verion of the new Lone star with real ( yes real) Oak Hard wood flooring wil sticker out at ... $165,000.00 Ialso foundout Tyson Chicken here in Va ordered 60 standard Lonestars . As for my choice of colors on it would be the red and great looking blue which sitting on the lot ..and guess what dummy me left my camera at home .

Hey guys,I was just reading the comments regarding the price of this one, sounds like a steal to me when you consider that here in Australia we can pay up to 170 of our dollars for a kit thats not even a new issue! I got my fingers crossed that this one will be sold in Australia,I would have no probs shelling out the bucks for one of these kits. Awesome work your doing there Dave, seems like you couldnt have picked a better truck, judging by all the interest here on the forum.

Cody,

Moebius could have made any truck (Mack Granite, Peterbilt 389, International 9900i, etc), and it probably would have still gotten this type of response. As long as it's a new truck! Maybe they'll do a trailer or two as well. I guess we'll just have to see what the future holds, and if the kit lives up to expectatons. Hopefully this won't be the only truck offering from Moebius.

It's not that easy. Acquiring the licenses these days ain't cheap. Moebius already has the International license, so an International 9900 or Prostar is no problem. However a Mack license is a different story. AMT/Ertl have a Mack license so they can offer a new Granite.

They were just examples. I really don't expect to see new trucks from AMT. They seem very content to issue 40 year old models.

Jim,good point you have raised about the licensing issue,I didnt actually consider that. Its a shame it puts such a restriction on our hobby in regards to new releases being introduced. Just gotta be thankful we have a good number of choices in resin gear I think. Do you know what the problem with licensing products is, with say, Mack trucks for example, when other manufacturers such as Volvo,Scania and Peterbilt have quite a selection of their trucks in kit form available?

Just got pics of the tooling mockup (masters made for tooling) of this tractor this morning, and WOW! Talk about what is shaping up to be one awesome truck! Let's just say, if I didn't know who was doing the project in kit form, I'd have sworn I was looking at mockups for a Tamiya kit!

Just a quick note.

The kit is being tooled now. first test shots are due to be available mid November

IF and I emphasize IF everything goes according to plan, kits will be shipping from the factory by end of January that would put product on store shelves in late february or early March..

Baring schedule slippage we'll have Lonestars in stores during the 1st quarter of 2011...
