DRG Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 My orthopedic Dr. says I have tron the cartlidge in my knee. I would sure like to know how I did that, but I don,t. I know it doesn't have anything to do with modeling, oh wait, yes it does I now have more modeling time for a little while. Out of something no so good comes something real good.
Draggon Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Yea, I understand. I've got some health issues that caused me to retire early......about 20 years too early. But I've got so much time for myself now. I hate not being able to work but I love the time I can spend on my hobbies.
Dave Ambrose Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 (edited) Your story is very familiar. I tore my knee cartilage during a SCUBA dive and got back into car modeling during my recuperation. Knees and car models. Whoda thunk? Edited October 26, 2010 by Dave Ambrose
Nova-ss Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Me too,I had to retire early cause of health reasons.I keep busy but I miss working!!!! ALOT!! the doctors tell me that I'm lucky to be here, funny thing is I don't feel lucky .....at all.working with my hobbies are fun but there needs to be a balance.I still push working and do it when I can.but it is like sneaking candy, you don't want to get in trouble for it.I understand. Thanks,Chris
runsw/scissors Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Know how you feel. In 3 weeks I go in for hip replacement surgury. I'll be out for 3 months. Also looking at a possible carrer change because of it. I am looking forward to more time to build but hate the idea of not working for 3 months.
charlie8575 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Ouch. At least you have something to occupy your time with, Donald. That'll be good and allow you recuperate. Hope you feel better soon. Charlie Larkin
mrmike Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I had surgery on December 2008 and was out for recovery until mid March 2009. During that time I built some really great models (to me) to help pass the time. During that time I allowed my imagination to roam a bit and and came up with some good ideas for my builds. Take the time to recover and good luck to you!
VW Dave Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Just before Valentine's day I broke my jaw, and was out of work for 7 weeks.....it was one helluva diet plan, being wired shut the first 2 weeks, but I was able to get a lot of building done(once I weaned myself off the pain meds the first few days )
