djsmadplastic Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 (edited) Just the start. The Frame(Tin work) is made from styrene sheets that I had lying around. The chassis rollcage is also fabed from styrene rods. The body is the original 1/16 scale Stingray Corvette by MPC which I chopped, streched, narrowed & cropped. The spoiler, scoop, & rockers are also fabed from styrene. All the measuring & fabricating was worth it because it all fits together like a glove.Beleive it not there is no bondo on this body. Everything else will be hand crafted from the suspensions to the seat ect. I'm going to try to fab everything by hand instead of using aftermarket & lathing products. Not sure what kind of motor I'm going to use yet but it will be BLOWN. Thanks for everybody's comment & I'll try to keep everything posted. D.J.smadplastic. Edited November 1, 2010 by Good Grief

I'm artularly interested in how you bent styrene tube and molded the sheet. Sorry to everyone for not giving updates. Been working long hours @ job. I bent the styrene rods w/a bic lighter. Just a little heat before it melts. For the tin work I didnt mold anything. The styrene was cut & glued w/ ca glue w/ insta-set the wheel wells were bent by rolling over my fingers then glued in place. I used templates from paper 1rst then cut out styrene for finished piece. Just gotta set & look a few times before it fits or looks good. Thanx D.J.
