Clay Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) Alright guys, going to build this one after this drawing. Using these wheels, Had to use aluminum tubing for a new shorter axle so the wheels and tires would fit in the tub. And then she sat like this. With some adjustment of the suspension she sits like this now. Edited December 22, 2010 by Clay
charlie8575 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 This should be interesting. Charlie Larkin
Adam deCoste Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 that drawing is really cool, and this model is looking great!!!!! i love the wheels
Raul_Perez Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Look at you go!! This should be a really cool project!! Can you get the nose down just a little bit more? Later,
Rob Z Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 This is looking like a really KOOL concept... Can't wait to see more...
DanielG Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 The drawing looks like it has a lower roof-line, are you going to chop it?
MikeMc Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Clay, if you can get the nose down, like in the first mockup and keep the rear down like in the last set...you have a winner, chopped or not!!
Clay Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Thanks guys. As far as getting the nose down, the wheels actually stick out past the fenders while on the spindles, so the fenders keep it like that. I will try again because the spindles have another hole just above the one they are on.
Clay Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 I do plan on useing the front bumper, mainly to cover the gap the front roll pan has. I will have to trim it a little bit though.
MikeMc Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I use a lot of the Pegasis wheels and found that you need to remove some material from the inner mount of the wheel. You can then fit them into the wheelwell I did that to a set of T's on my '69 camaro build.
seanyb505 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Project looks great! Do you happen to know the exact diameter of those wheels? Ive been eyeing that set for a while now.
ian ashton Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Project looks great! Do you happen to know the exact diameter of those wheels? Ive been eyeing that set for a while now. I was wondering the same thing! They looked staggered, which makes me think they are the 19/23's.

I will try that next time with the wheels.

mikemodeler Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) Clay, So far, it is looking great! I am sure it will be another nice build, much like the one you did on the mid 50's F pickup. Nice choice of wheels and colors again! Edited November 6, 2010 by mikemodeler
Clay Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Ok Guys, got a small update. I found my Resin Delivery Sedan and tried it out on the chassis, wasn't too happy with the front wheel wells, so I went back to the original body. Also found my tear drop hood so I can put a bigger engine in. And the engine.
Foxer Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I love studies ans this is coming along nice. But, I do agree with everyone that this has to come down more ... whatever it takes.
Krazy Rick Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 This is one sharp looking Stude !! ....Those wheels really look terrific !!
Clay Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Thanks, I havent worked on it in a while, just need to finish the engine.
Harold Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Looking good, Clay. I had a bear of a time getting mine to sit right. I wound up cutting the rear axle from the springs, adding lowering blocks and re- attatching the springs. Not to hijack, but here's one I finished in '07 (and I need to take some newer photos of this guy).
