I started another project. I bought a resin Brookwood wagon from The Modelhaus. I started to build a 409 but, I thought how about something different for me. Years ago my dads partner in his body shop loved Buicks. No matter what car he had it had a Buick motor, so I will do the same. I took a Ertil/AMT 66 Riviera 425 cubic inch "Nailhead"

and placed it in with only a little modifying to the bottom of the automatic pan. Fits like a glove! Here is the stock motor adding a Arrowhead prewired distributer and I scratch built brackets for the alternator and power steering pump.

here you can see how I cut the pan so it will fit in the frame @ 1/8" with a razor saw.

I also am getting tired of my hoods falling off so I hinged the hood

and filled in the cowl and took off the wipers (it doesn't rain on my shelf anyway) I use Key-flo 2 part polyester putty.

I am using the wheels and tires from Revell 32 Ford and added the "ARTERAKE" (HAHA)

shaved off the door handles, may or may not add them later

I also shaved off the tailgate and smoothed off the emblem on the "V" molding (still needs a little cleanup)

I am thinking 2 tone paint but, not sure ENJOY!

Nice rake! :D

Looks great there. I like the teal and white but that has been done to death. Try something different besides two-tone just to be diff.

I have to ask tho... why the Buick motor instead of a Chev?

Irv, does that body use the El Camino kit or the Monogram hardtop? I have the El Camino kit, and would like to do a four door wagon like we had when I was a kid, but I've only seen this two door body. Looks good already, are you going to keep the front side spears? Might look even smoother without them. HOK silver basecoat and candy tangerine would also look good!

I am thinking black top and House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl for the body. I am keeping the side spear. I used a Buick motor to be different. I always build Chevy motors. It could be worse I could have put a Ford in it. HaHa

There is a 4 door wagon available from Jimmy Flintstone... BUT I don't remember if it is a 59 or a 60. Paul

Looking good Irv. The 59 is actually one of, if not my all time favorite Chevy design. I've got one too but no farther then initial mockup. Mine'll be factory stock though, I think...Just gotta decide on the color! :?:

I have really never heard the name brockwood before!

Anyone got some address with some facts or something??

Looks much -59 impala-ish.

Anyway love the style so far, love stationwagons too, so ill be following.

Another great choice of subject and it wouldn't be complete without the belly button close to the floor......Can't wait to see it finished and in the weeds :(

I agree the black over tangelo would make that wagon pop.....although somebody's earlier suggestion of yellow & white inspired me to dig up this pic:
