Gregg Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Guys, I have been trying to get eModelCars.com going for over a year now. It's an easy place to list model kits for sale, and best of all, IT'S FREE!! Yups, that's right, free, no charge to list, sell, or post want ads. Check it out. If it don't get better by the summer, I will probably close it down. I will start a small advertising campaign for it, but I have nothing to gain from this. It's all for the readers, you guys, I don't want or expect anything back. I hear all the time the complaints about the other sites charging so much. Well, here's the place to go to sell model kits. http://www.emodelcars.com
Smart-Resins Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Gregg I am a signed member.I have tried to sell and ask for wants, but the turn out is slim on the site.I for one think it is a great idea if some poeple would jump on the band wagon. After all, its not just another site for everything. It is indeed a sight completely for us aand theres no listing fees.I was on there last week and there was only 3 things listed. Its hard to look for any good kits for sale there if some of you guys dont go listing them. Why not list for a few days, then no reply, then jump onto another site to sell??Like Gregg said, it is FREE!!
crispy Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I've been listing and re-listing on their for a couple of months now. Sold two kits. Not much traffic, but I certainly try to keep something their. I'd miss the venue if it were gone, but I certainly understand where you are coming from Gregg. Chris
KT EASTMAN Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 I am glad that the sight is there. I was hoping it would take off better than it has. I think a lot of folk are afraid that they will not get top $$ for their stuff because of the small traffic. I sure do hope that it will take off and become sucessfull. It would be sad to see it go!!! KT
Chromecop Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I didn't know about the site ! I've registred now, opening bids overall seem to be a bit higher than on Ebay thou, maybe that's one reason there's not so much "traffic" going on???
robertw Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I took a look at the site a couple days ago and found that a lot of what was available wasn't available for those of us outside the US but I'll also admit that increasing sellers on ebay won't sell to Canada. Quite discouraging. rob w
Billy Kingsley Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I've just registered, and while I don't have much in the way of excess funds right now, I will certainly see what I can come up with to buy and possibly even sell
Guest roadkill2525 Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 I just registered, the two t-birds caught my eye. Now I have to wait for my tax return.
Gregg Posted April 3, 2007 Author Posted April 3, 2007 Guys, the auction site is getting up there now. I appreciate everyone using it. Remember, IT'S FREE!!!!!! http://www.emodelcars.com
Smart-Resins Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Here real soon ill be posting some 1/16 junk lots.See where they go.
bobss396 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I promise to check it out later from home, I've totally had it with evilBay. Bob
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Perhaps Reliable Resin should open a store on here....
Mike Whatshisname Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Gregg, I think this would be agreat place for the aftermarket and diorama people to sell their goods and it would actually be a way for them to advertise their product for free. I would hit them with your advertising!
Gregg Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 The site is starting to take off, finally! Thanks, guys! over 100 items for sale, over 500 registered people, it will work! And it's FREE!!!!!!!!!
chopt31 Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Hey Gregg I didn't know you had the car I just bid on! I don't want to tell what it is cause somebody else will outbid me! How can we get the cheap deals if everybody knows where to look?
Gregg Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 At least shipping will be free! (Local pickup, people) :-)
Jason Rothgeb Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Hello Gregg, I saw a post by you somewhere else on the board that if the concept did not take off before too long you were going to plug. I am posting to let you know I'm "thinking" emodelcars.com. I was looking for a Nascar Monte Carlo notchback. I perused the listings and the closest I got was some guy in HI selling an aerocoupe kit  I will keep looking on there to see if the site has what I'm looking for on a given day. Thanks, Jason
Gregg Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 That's me. I have a bunch more NASCAR models going up for sale
Guest roadkill2525 Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Would you trade for the blank Chevy Lumina?
Gregg Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 Not looking for any more kits Trying to get rid of everything I won't build, or have been sitting on too long
Gregg Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 I am putting up about 120 more kits on eModelCars. You can see them all here before: http://www.himcc.org/kits If you want anything before I put them up, let me know, save me some time I hope I don't get banned for doing this :-)
Gregg Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 64 more kits going up. Let me know http://www.himcc.org/Kits2
Gregg Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 One last time, maybe: http://www.himcc.org/kits3
Billy Kingsley Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 With all those NASCAR kits on there, I'm going to have to spend some money....I gotta save some of it up first....Too many things going on, I gotta pay two people I owe then it's back to buying like normal! I have to get my computer's motherboard fixed (ACK!) and I hope that won't cost too much. What I'm getting at is, Gregg, why'd you have to put all those NASCAR kits up now??
