curt raitz Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 This is the 1/20th scale Fujimi kit built to represent the car Senna drove in the 1991 Japanese GP...without tobaccy decals Paint is Model Masters Classic White and Tamiya TS-36 "Florescent Red" I'm really enjoying building these latest entries into 1/20th scale F-1 modeling scene this is an excellent kit with a lot of detail and tiny parts! thanx for lookin'...
Peter Lombardo Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 You sure have a lot of nerve posting an F1 car here!! Actually, great job as usual. I have that kit too, but I got those nasty tobacco manufactures decals to go with it. It just isn't a 70's, 80's, or 90's red and white McLaren, in my eyes, without the Marlboro name on the side. I now have about 40 1/20 scale F1 cars that I have to build.....too many kits, not enough time. I need to get up to your speed of one new build every 11 days if I ever want to get through these builds. I still don't know how you do it. B)

935k3 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Nice as usual Curt. I was wandering if the F1 after the "Good Year" on the tire letting is correct. I do not remember it being on the real cars from that era and I have Tamiya's 1/12 scale kit of this car and it has just "Good Year"and "Eagle" lettering.
Rob Hall Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Sweet build...I have the Tamiya McLarens of that era, haven't sprung for any of the Fujimi ones...waiting on the Fujimi 97T to come out, ordered as an xmas gift for my sister, the Senna fanatic...but I'm afraid I won't get it before January..

Thanx, I just went back and looked at all of my reference photos and none show "F1" behind "Eagle" as supplied in the Fujimi kit. I never noticed this until you mentioned it, amazing how one's eye can look at something and the brain tricks you into seeing something different... I just layed 'em down right off the decal sheet...gonna have to stay that way - cuz removing the "F1" will throw the spacing off, dang it!
935k3 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 "amazing how one's eye can look at something and the brain tricks you into seeing something different..." one of the great truths of life, it gets me in trouble at work and at home. You do have to wonder why Fujimi did that anyway.
Raul_Perez Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 I think that I'll just start sending my stuff to you to build... You build more, nice models in one month than I do all year!! See you soon, my old friend,
