Thor Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) Hi. This is a 1960 Ford Galaxie 2dr Club Victoria converted from a Starliner kit. The car car is painted and foiled except the hood......doh but i was lucky to find the same spraycan in my garage. Well here goes the first picture i`ve taken so far Edited January 12, 2011 by Thor
Foxer Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 That's quite an eye opening color! I like it. The foil work is outstanding.
Nick Winter Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 That looks very cool, I always like the non main stream cars myself, rather than the '58 Fury or Belvedere, I liked the Savoy Club coupe I know I know I'm weird.
John Goschke Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Nice build! Actually that body style, the non-Starliner two-door hardtop, was called the "Club Victoria" by Ford. The "Town Sedan" would've been the four-door sedan, "Club Sedan" would've been the two-door sedan, "Town Victoria" was the four-door hardtop.
Harold Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Ooooooooh- I sure like where this is headed . Is that the '61 roof on the '60 body?
george 53 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Harold, that's how I did it, but I built mine as a four door. Thor, your conversion looks GREAT! Did you have any trouble filling in the area between the trucklid and the rear window?
Kris Morgan Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Very clean conversion. I have always liked this roof line a little more. Very neat color choice.
Thor Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 thanks for nice comments. does anyone know where i can get a stock 352 aircleaner ? Not the HiPo aircleaner that is in the kit
charlie8575 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Cool! Where did you find the roof section? Charlie Larkin
Harold Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 thanks for nice comments. does anyone know where i can get a stock 352 aircleaner ? Not the HiPo aircleaner that is in the kit I'd try either the Monogram '58 T- Bird or the AMT '58 Edsel or '64 Mercury. One thing that bugs me, though, is Ford didn't use blue on their engines 'til 66, so why do these restores insist on painting all Ford engines blue (I've even seen that done on a restored '53 flattie). Black w/ gold valve covers and air cleaner is the ticket.
Thor Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Great tip on the air filter, i have the 64 Mercury i`ll check that out. Thanks About the color i didn`t think the standard 352 had gold colored valvecover/air filter, i know my 60 Merc colony park 430cui has that color combo.
george 53 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Thor, VERY nice Backlite/tulip panel transition! Yous came out VERY nice! GREAT JOB!
Thor Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 Hi I redid the floorpan for the car, painted to look like red/brown primer. i`ve painted the rear axle black with red/brown diff housing. all left is to detail it with brakelines and hose.
Thor Posted January 22, 2011 Author Posted January 22, 2011 Did some work on the model. some detail to rear axle and started on the engine.i also found a stock aircleaner for the 300hp 352
