Yeah, fantasyjunction.com is one of the best sites on the Web for photo reference, and they have a lot of turnover in their inventory. I've gathered tons of images from them over the years.

THANK YOU for the heads up! I saved them to my photo album! Interestingly, it appears that the back window is solid black- not tinted clear. Even has a bulkhead behind the driver. So I guess the thing to do is spray the inside of the rear window gloss black. Sweet!

Or... is it?

Ooh, excellent! Thanks!

If you don't want to right click, save as all those pics, highlight the whole mess of them, copy, and paste them to a Word doc and they'll all be snagged in one shot.

It is black. It's translucent but very dark.

The actual race car had a rear camera that they used rather than a rear-view mirror.

Very nice! I just bought the Revell 2001? C5-R Le Mans kit on the weekend. These pics will come in handy when I build it.

Hi to all, glad to help.

If you are interested in more C5-R information, on my web site I have preserved a variety of Corvette racing history information, particularly photos I took at many American LeMans Series (ALMS) races. During the C5-R era, I had contacts on the team and got close to the cars. I took pix with the model builder in mind. I also kept info from other sources from day one:

C5RMul2.jpg

Above - October 5, 1998 - Autoweek - The first C5-R was a converted production 1997 Corvette Coupe. After being used for initial testing it was further converted to an "Homologation Car". This was to show that the C5-R could be used as a street car.

Enjoy! :D
