ewaskew Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 This happened when my grand-daughters cat got to my models when it was over for a visit. The bad news is that the little cat got hit by a car today and didn't make it. We will get her another one that will stay with us in the house all the time. Her loss hurts me more than anything. The baby in the photo is a doll, just want to clear that up,don't need the locals coming over for a visit
CAL Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 actaully mine are pretty good in the model room. They come in and just hang out and proved to be non-distructive.

The baby in the photo is a doll, just want to clear that up,don't need the locals coming over for a visit Sorry to hear that. I know the pain. I lost three cats when I was three years old. The wierd thing was they died one thusday, one friday, one saterday. All three to the same cause. A dog attack.
Terry Sumner Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 We have...gulp...10 cats! Yes that's right...TEN little furballs! But in all fairness, they are my wife's cats. One is my buddy and sleeps with me every night right next to me but the rest hang out with my wife. And since my wife is totally disabled and cannot work and needs her hips replaced etc etc...they are what keep her company through all the long days. There's always at least one of them on her lap! My shop is in my basement though and they aren't allowed in there. Already suffered damage in the past and am not going through that again!
Railfreak78 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I finally found a way to keep mine out of the loft but here she is. This is Daisy. I adopted her as she was left over from a mothers day sale and nobody wanted a 3 year old cat. She was fat and lazy but now she active and happy.
highway Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 She was fat and lazy but now she active and happy. No wonder she's active now, she's high on caffine!!!
evilone Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Well i have two cats that always are near me when im building. I had three but my baby mercedes isn't with us no more. When all three of them were togeather eather my parts trees or my box would dissapear. the two alive now (hitler and angel) help out when they want too lol. if they dont like the build they introduce it to gravity (usually early on in the fab stages) if they like it it's allowed to see the full build cycle lol.
ra7c7er Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I have two cats here one is old and just sits in whatever box I have open at the time. Whats fun is when she just randomly jumps in a box with something in it and she freaks out. The other cat ,only about 3, will try to get in my lap, or sit on my desk, or play with parts, or play incubator to small parts I have laid out, or a huge list of things that annoy my models. He makes a good weight but he is long haired and it insane trying to get a nice paint job with him in the room. I have resorted to going out into the shed, 6x4 to do my painting.
Ben Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) Oh man, you know I'm diggin this post!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was the only cat freak! LOL I have five and they are my kids! They love to "help" and give me advice on building as you'll see in the pics. I almost forgot "The Baby". She was rescued from the shop I work at. She used to sit with me under the Motorhomes I work on and keep me company. "A cat away from home!" My boss hates cats and threatened to have her picked up so I brought her home. She doesn't build models though. Edited January 17, 2011 by Ben
whale392 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Refer to one of my earlier posts in the FOX Chassis CBP for my take on my cats vs my models!

samdiego Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) Now I'm remembering my worst personal model tragedy and the cause was all DOG. SAE used two of my cars, a chopped AMT Merc and a Revell Willys Coupe around June of '86. Naturally this earned them the place of honor on top of the TV. The idiot Weimereiner was outside and discovered the delicious TV cable where it entered the house and in chewing on it, pulled hard enough to drag the 26" TV off of the table (inside) it was on. It landed face first with these cars and a Gunze 250 GTO underneath. Stupid dogs. That being said, We're watching you George Edited January 17, 2011 by samdiego
Adam144 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Our cat would DESTROY my model room. It's sort of a "man cave" in the basement where my PS3, big screen, PS3/PC racing seat w/ Logitech G27 wheel, etc. is all used. Our cat likes to chew on electrical cords and a lot of other small items. The door is CLOSED to her and she is never to be in there. Even if we're watching movies, can't trust her not to get behind the TV/surround sound and chew through a cord. I am still wondering why I let my girlfriend talk me into us getting one. I mean the cat has a TON of personality but she can also be a real P.I.T.A.
