Nova-ss Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 This is a project I started along time ago.but didn't know what I wanted it to be or what color it would be,I have that part figured out now.I also was missing parts years ago when it was started and at the time I had many things going on.the parts are coming together now with help from many people.most of the parts are now here only a few remain to be found or purchased.it going to be a hay truck with a trailer being pulled.the engine is a Detriot..no turbo on this one and will be the alpine green...or as close as I can come.the straight truck will have a flatbed on the back of it.it will be green frame, white cab.some updates to the cab will be done as well.I'm looking at a picture of a hay truck and trailer config that I will be using.I will be posting here and at a forum I belong to for those who care to see.I'm have fun for the first time in along time at building thanks me wife, friend PaulT and many people here and on the other model truck forum.thanks to all,Chris
Jim B Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Definately. Nice job so far. I'm assuming that those bradd rods sticking out of the frame are going to be for front shocks?

Nova-ss Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 Here is some more progress on my Ford.I've started building the bed.I have a ways to go on the bed.I'm following some pictures of a truck I saw as far as the bed goes. The engine was a glue bomb that I have to go in it.I've had to rebuild the sides and the bottom of the oil pan.I've started more work on the bottom of the floor were the airtanks.I built airtanks for the truck to follow more of the pictures of LNTs that I have....oh and video as well.thanks for looking,Chris that front end is looking great, very nice detail!!! Thank you...............Chris
Jim B Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Nice frame work, and your air tanks look nice, too. Is your engine going to be yellow or blue? What is that "base" it's resting on? Is that telescoping for different frame lengths? To tell the truth, it looks a little like something from Star Wars.

Jim B, Thank you.The engine is going to be Alpine green or detriot green which one everyone wants to call it.I'm working on the oil cool for the engine now.the engine came from a friend and it was in bad shape...so I have a lot of work ahead of me on that part.I'm looking at gov on the front part of the blower trying to find more info on the dementions and how it suppose to look, cause the used engine does not have one...its missing. The frame stand is a part I made cause it helps me.so i built it the way I want it and yes it extense in and out by removing a pin...on both ends.just made out of scrape plastic. Thanks,Chris

Nova-ss Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 hi All, I've been working on a front blower and Gov. for this engine.AMT never made anything as far as looking right for the gov and front blower plate....so I'm working fixing this one I'm building.I have info and detailed picture of these parts and have tryed to build it the way it really looks.I hope it looks right.I'm working on building another Detroit and will need many,so I'm learning on the way I want to build the next one.I still have to put the control post for the throttle levers on it and a few other things before I put it on the engine.thanks to all for the great coments and I like building the chassis stand I have several and continue to made more.I have many builds going at the same time. Thanks,Chris

I have to agree with the others, excellent detail work on that frame and front axle. Since you're adding detail to the engine, keep us posted with those details, I'm interested to see what you're doing to it. Keep it up! Edited July 16, 2011 by Z06Bob
