kerc Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Even though I'm sticking to the Matador project, this nugget came to my mind today. Can anyone identify the powertrain and tell me what's unusual about this?

Chuck Most Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Hmmmm.... It's Lycoming V8 from a Cord, and... it's front drive?
kerc Posted January 22, 2011 Author Posted January 22, 2011 Hmmmm.... It's Lycoming V8 from a Cord, and... it's front drive? We have a winner! Not a wiener.
Guest Markus355 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 My name is Mark. And I approve this message. Love everything about it.
W-409 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 That's a nice start! That stance is nice, I hope that you will keep it that low. Wheels and tires are looking good too, and I like that Sedan body. I have one thing, which is wrong, Too much head clearence! Chop the top! It looks much better when the top is lower. Now it's too high. Nice project anyways, I'll be watching for sure!
Rob Z Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 This looks interesting... This will be one to watch, Cord Front drive and supercharged, OH MY...
MikeMc Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 We have a winner! Not a wiener. What if Chuck is a weiner...........That would make him a weiner winner.......
kerc Posted January 22, 2011 Author Posted January 22, 2011 Okay, did some work tomorrow last night even though the garage was coooooold. Decided to adapt the Cord front suspension to a scratchbuilt frame, to showcase and highlight the FWD aspects, and also made mounting everything easier. Still needs more plastic and putty, but it's a start. And no, I'm not choppin' it, I think it looks pretty jaunty and cool with the stock top! The last pic is the intended ride height, and it's quite achievable.
cruz Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 This is really going to be cool Kerc!!!! You see how much fun you were missing out from? Keep hitting that bench, believe me, my basement is no tropical haven either.... Love the idea!!!!

Keep hitting that bench, believe me, my basement is no tropical haven either.... Love the idea!!!! You're absolutely right, man! I tweaked the chassis a bit and managed to get the stock interior to fit perfectly--anything that cam be made easier, will. Also dechromed and assembled the '28 Lincoln wheels to see how it all looks. Those are mean wheels--I love 'em!
Rinseman Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Oh, those wheels are awesome. Watching this build, definitely.
Tumbler75 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Stunning concept! I love the idea of having a Cord Engine in a 32! This is going to one mind boggling build when done. Keep it up, I like where it's heading. The Linc wheels look awesome so far.
Jon Cole Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Just when I think there is nothing new that can be done, you do something new! The Cord drive on the front- BRILLIANT! We need a "two thumbs up" emo!
Jantrix Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I'm really digging this. Can't wait to see this come together.
