spkgibson Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 This is the new Missing Link Resin Conversion Kit, I just pulled it out, Cleaned up the body, The primer on the front is for me to check my work on the header panel, I need some Ideas for colors on the one, Any suggestions would be great. I was thinking a Blue. The rear bumper was cut out to put the taillights in from behind.
spkgibson Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 This will be cool! Yes they are very nice conversion kits, Great Qaulity Products, Just clean the flash and get it ready for paint.
charlie8575 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Spinnaker Blue sounds nice for this, Steve. I believe that was available for the '76 Model Year. I know some kind of soft, pastel blue was. Another good option would be Deep Sherwood, and if you look around, you still might be able to find a can of Dupli-Color on a shelf someplace. I'll enjoy watching this. Are you using one of the MPC Monacos for the running gear and chassis? Charlie Larkin
Railfreak78 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I will be watching for sure. I can't wait to see what you do with this. I need to contact them and see if the sell just the headlights and grille for the Fury. I dont need the whole body. Anyway good luck!

I just looked it up ,I already have that color, I hope we get a break in the weather soon so I can paint this. Railfreak, I'm sure you could get those from them,Send them a PM.
spkgibson Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 i just finished up the grill today, I used the stuff called "The Detailer" To black it out, The second photo to me doesn't look that well, But here is the close up front shot !

That was one hard grill to get right,It took 2 trys, After I let it set up overnight, I'll thin some Testors Clear cement and fill in where the makerlights go, There not white, And the headlight bezels are chrome and argent, Not Black,Thats only on the Road Runners according to my refference material .I still need to paint those,It's way to cold to do any painting on the body ,I hope we get a decent day soon.

The grille looks pretty good from what I can see, Steve. Does your camera have a zoom or micro setting on it? That might provide a clearer up-close pic for us to admire. Also, any chance you're going to drill out the cast headlights and replace them with clear lenses?

The only camera I own is the one on my cell phone, LOL ,How I will do the headlights is the same way i'll be doing the lights in the grill. As those resin parts are to brittle in my opinion to drill out,I don't want to take the chance of them breaking on me, That would be a nightmare. I'll take some better photos in better lighting.
Crusader101 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Looks great....glad you posted this, I'll have to pick one up...I owned the actual car back in '76.
Agent G Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I owned the RoadRunner in '76, and drove this version as my first police car. What's the link to the maker again please? G

Chuck Most Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Maybe its the late hour, but I think the black wash on the grille looks pretty good. I'm really liking what I see with the conversion parts.
