Danno Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Beautiful! Don't know how I missed it previously. Beautiful!
Dr. Cranky Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Oh, I love the color. Great work so far. Please keep going.
doomcrew Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 well its coming along nicely, and as you can see, the paint is now sanded and polished. the chassis and interior are now in place along with the engine. i used half round styrene for the door caps which covered in bare metal. the seats are from a chevy barretta as is the rear window for the windscreen. half round styrene was also used for the rear bumper. thanks for looking. steve
doomcrew Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 the engine is 99% done, just have the exhaust to finish and have now started doing the suspension. here are pics of the rear leaf springs which are being scratchbuilt. the front end is mostly stock with the amt kit parts. i used the kit leaf springs as a guide for length and curve of the new ones. the bumper is the amt custom part, with a 57 chevy bar, a wire mesh painted black sits behind. i covered the headers in alclad and turned a pair of mufflers along with an ignition coil on my lathe. steve
W-409 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 That body looks really smooth, great looking right now! Colors are nice too and I like the paintjob... Engine looks really good too, detailing on it is very nice. I can't wait to see this one finished. And those pictures could be little bigger, not much but a little?
doomcrew Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 i have tried making them bigger, but photobucket pixlates them too much. here are the rear leaf springs just before final fabrication and shown with base colour and etched parts in place. steve :D
doomcrew Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 the fleetliner is now ready to roll. check out the reast of the pics in under glass. thanks for looking. steve
