chris coller Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Which kit has the seperate chrome trim for the body? Or am I thinking of the 57 Chevy?
Terry Sumner Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 The new Revell Bel Air Hardtop kit #85-2069 has it. This is the kit with the gold car with flames on the boxtop.
Peter Lombardo Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 The older convertible kit from Revell has the "add on" chrome trim too.
ChrisPflug Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 The really old "opening everything" Revell '55 has separate chrome trim as well The '56 comes with differnt chrome for your choice of the three trim levels of sedan
bang bang Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) I have tried to buy the Revell Bel Air Hardtop kit #85-2069 from one or two model suppliers ( because It looks like a sweet kit to build) but man the shipping is out there. The kit price is 24.95 & the shipping is over nine bucks. I know that I'm going to buy but they should supply a little Vaseline I think. Edited February 11, 2011 by bang bang

Check out their website and I think you will find some other items that you may need and then the shipping is spread over several items and is easier to accept. Keep in mind that UPS and FedEx recently raised their rates as the higher fuel prices have forced them to pass along higher costs!

The Monogram kit is very different and does not have the seperate chrome trim and can not be built stock.
Longbox55 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Revell kit number 85-4295 is the same as the 85-2069, only difference is the box and maybe the decals. It is currently available.
