hello and Happy new year to everyone. At this moment I am kinda stalled on this build because I dont know what color I want to paint it. My original intent was to lay down a fade paint job like Gene Winfield use to do back in the day, but aparently my air brushing skills are not up to par for this. So I have came to all of you for some advice for paint. I want to keep this a color that would have been used for a 60"s custom. Any Ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Ok everyone I finally had a little time to do some work to this build, not much but every bit counts. I made some grommets for the spotlights I will have to shave them a little thinner, also made a couple of rear view mirrors for this truck, the first one I made the center kinda melted so I made a second one (black) . Also added door handles.

Well its been awhile since I had any updates on this build, but I am hoping to get some work done on this now. I don't have a lot to update, but I did do some work to the interior door panels. I removed all the molded in window cranks and arm rest. Added parts box pieces to replace them. I also made some power window switches.

I have also been trying my luck at a faded paint job. These are not the colors I will be using but just an idea of what I want to do with the paint on this build.

My plan on the paint job is something similar to one of these cars.

That will really cool, great body work. I wish I had the patience to pull something like that off.

Thanks Mike for your comment. Guaranteed you could build anything you want.

Hey guys I have been looking at the original art work, if you look at the purple one it kinda looks like it fades to white on the bottom. What do you think of painting this build similar to the picture. It looks like an easy fade.

I don't know what your process is but I would suggest using some form of a reducer. Start at 0% where you want to start the fade and go in incriments of 25% and work you way down over top the white

Did some more work on the interior. I drilled out the dash for the gauges, headlight switch, and an ignition. There was too much room behind the seats so I made a panel from the original tonneau cover and then I added some round strips for piping.

I also made an ignition, head light and wiper switch knobs from plastic tubing. Made a new shifter and made some seat adjuster handles. I will have to make the adjuster handles a little bit smaller. Also made a new turn signal handle and spotlight handles. So now the interiors mods are complete except for color.

Did get some more done on this. Made some engine pullies out of parts of the el camino and some round stock. chucked them into my dremel to round them out and cut a groove for the belt. made alternator brackets.

Next I took the original modified radiator and cut the ends off and glued them into the engine bay. I then added some flanges and a new fill hole to the radiator.

Here is the original radiator And the modified one
