Bruce Poage Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 So I am thinking of going way out of my comfort zone and use three colors on the current panel delivery project I am working on. That is going to call for some really fine edges and a good quality tape. I have used several brands/types but was looking for suggestions from this astute group. Suggestions??
ra7c7er Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I like Tamiya tape but blue tape has never failed me either. Just make sure you have it down well and most will do you just fine.
Mike Kucaba Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 It's not so much the tape, but the whole process. Lay down the masking material as best as you can, shoot a thin coat of clear, and shoot away from the tape edge. I've done clean multi color paint edges using whatever was available way before Tamiya tape and all the newer ones were out.
charlie8575 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 The stuff 3-M sells that's about the same color as the Tamiya tape also works very nicely, and is much less expensive. Charlie Larkin

jsimmons Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I found what looks like a nice selection of different widths of masking tape: http://www.finessepinstriping.com/edge_order.asp
