This is my second model for 2011. I started working on this about three years ago.

I started from the engine... I painted it orange and started to put it together. I wanted to go with chromed valve covers for a custom look, but I had not any of them so I used stock orange ones. But with '58 Impala, there came two valve cover sets for 348", I used other ones to this. Also I started to put some plug wires to engine, but after that, I stopped working with the engine.

It was time to start chassis work. I didn't get much done, but I painted the hole thing, gas tank, frame etc. Painting the body was tricky. I used gloss red, but the paint left off from the body and also I saw some scratches on the paint. Then came long break.

Some time ago, I started to sand old paint off from the body. I also painted some primer on it. Then some test fitting, and for a right stance, I saw some material off from the springs. Putting chassis together, was quite easy. Wheels I took from Revell's '49 Mercury and tires are from the box (if I remember correctly)...

I took old plug wires off from the engine and made new ones from Detail Master's yellow wire. They are looking quite good. I also started installing the engine, but it didn't fit at all. After some sanding, cutting etc. I got it fit right. I took wheel backs from parts box, but i drilled new axle holes to them, because someone had glued axle systems very hardly to wheel backs. Finally I got them look good and I painted them with gloss black.

Interior is painted with semi gloss black and then some red stripes, like Tuck 'n' Roll interior. Decal on the dash is from Monogram's '39 Chevy? Interior was quite hard to fit togehter, specially door panels and dash were hard. Cauges are decals, but the speed cauge, I painted it myself, because the decal spitted up.

I did the second try with the body. I painted it with a metallic red. It went well, and I sprayed some clear on it. Foiling was awfull, so much chrome trims all around... Glasses in and some other parts before gluing the chassis. Nothing special with the final assembly...

Looks good. I like your pipes and your choice in wheels. Why is the engine sitting so far back though? Did you make it do that or is that the way it's set up with this kit?

Thank you for the comments!

Engine is sitting in that place, and that's Revell's mistake. It's way too back. But I think, I have one way to get it look better. For the next one, don't want to start sawing this one...

Brett: Color looks bit orange in the pics, but it's red. This '55Chevy is painted with the same paint, and there color looks as it looks really. In these pics, it's bit too orange as you said.

Thank you for the nice words! ;)
