These are all different. Notice the last image posted of the green hornet, it's made from very thin, cheap paper. The model is crushing the box. The other ones are made from glossy thick stock, much more durable, but much more expensive.

For you guys that make your own decals, I would imaging you'd be able to make your own of these. If this guy is selling them for $45, he's making money, otherwise why do it? If you're willing to pay this much, make your own and it will probably be a little less. Design it, have it printed at Kinkos.

Instead of someone making and selling these, sell the file that people can take to a printer. Sell them for $5-$10 for the document, then the person takes it to Kinkos to have as many as they want printed. Design more for newer cars, etc.

Ryan, do you live near the border? I have had stuff sent to a UPS store near Watertown, NY and driven over. That was before our $ went in the dumper.

And be sure to spell "Quick-Change" correctly, unless the original was wrong too...

Quick-Chang rears were made in Japan :)

It's interesting that it also says "rubber tires". I don't have an original kit but I have a case of the last reissue and they had 2 piece styrene tires in them.

It looks like the original bases were thinner than the newer reproductions, too, but you're right in that quality will depend upon the thickness of paper/card stock which was used. I think you're limited by the need to fold and bend the stock, too, so maybe there is a limit to how thick it can be.

all the ones I got, and I got a few, were printed on heavy stock, prefolded, preglued and ready to display. and yes that typo was on the original. and while the "wheels" were not rubber, the tires in the originals were. (edit to add: well from memory they were...not sure why they would switch to plastic ones on reissues but I have a couple built up originals and they have rubber tires on them)

do not know if this latest batch is from the same guy I bought them from but they were, when I bought them anyhow, made of quality thick coated stock. (another edit to add: yes this "3names" guy is the same I bought from a number of years ago.)

if you want a green hornet base you should msg the guy on ebay, its where I bought mine and I have requested certain bases from him and if he had them he made one up and either sold it to me or put it on ebay buy it now and gave me a heads up.

Chang is Chinese, not Japanese. If you're going to make a stupid joke, make sure you get it right
